Why do moms stay up late?
Kasi sa gabi lang tahimik.
No little voices calling “Mommy!”
No tiny hands pulling us for attention.
Walang gustong kumain, uminom, o magpahele.
Just… silence.
And in that silence, we finally breathe.
We scroll.
We snack kahit hindi naman gutom.
We stare at the wall.
We enjoy the stillness — kahit sandali lang.
Alam namin na bukas, pagod na naman.
We’ll be tired, busy, and pulled in all directions.
Pero sa mga oras na ’to, sa gabi,
Ito lang ‘yung time na parang kami ulit ‘to.
Not just “Mommy,”
but a woman who’s trying to remember who she is beyond all the roles she plays.
So if you ever wonder why a mom is still awake at 1am…
Know that it’s not because she’s doing nothing.
It’s because this nothingness is everything she needs to feel human again. ❤️
