CORON, Palawan — The island town of Coron has been included in the global ranking of the Best Places in the World to Swim, according to travel company CV Villas.
In its latest report, CV Villas analyzed annual meteorological data to determine destinations with the most favorable and consistent conditions for year-round sea swimming.
The study assessed average sea temperatures, wind speeds, cloud cover, and UV index levels.
Coron was named among the top swimming destinations worldwide, placing the Philippines alongside internationally renowned beach hotspots.
Topping the list is Gili Trawangan in Indonesia, followed by Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada in Egypt; Fethiye in Turkey; Protaras and Ayia Napa in Cyprus; and Koh Samui in Thailand.
Other destinations included Unawatuna and Trincomalee in Sri Lanka; Negril in Jamaica; Zanzibar in Tanzania; Cockburn Town in Turks and Caicos; and Flic en Flac and Grand Baie in Mauritius.
The inclusion of Coron highlights its reputation for clear waters, scenic limestone cliffs, and favorable sea conditions that attract both local and foreign tourists throughout the year.
