14-YEAR-OLD COTABTO BOY KILLED IN HIT AND-RUN, DRIVER FEES SCENE!

Cotabato City, BARMM Philippines โ€“
A 14-year-old boy from Cotabato City died after being struck by a black Toyota Hilux pickup truck in a hit-and-run incident along Sinsuat Avenue on Wednesday. The victimโ€™s companion, also a minor, remains in critical condition at a local hospital.

The incident occurred near the Peopleโ€™s Palace as the victims were en route to Barangay Tamontaka. Authorities confirmed the driver abandoned the vehicleโ€”a Hilux with plate number DBS 9218โ€”at the scene and fled. Investigators suspect alcohol impairment may have contributed to the crash.

Cotabato City Police Office (CCPO) Director Col. Jibin Bongcayao has ordered Precinct 2 officers to prioritize solving the case and coordinate with the victimsโ€™ families to pursue legal action.

The truck was found abandoned near the Cotabato Regional Medical Center and Notre Dame Hospital, facilities that could have provided immediate aid to the injured.

Relatives of the deceased and police reports identified the victims, though their names remain withheld.

The victimโ€™s aunt shared details of the tragedy on social media, urging accountability.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and witness accounts to locate the driver. The CCPO emphasized its commitment to resolving the case swiftly.
