🐒❤️ Meet Panchi — the tiny monkey with a plush “mom.”
At Ichikawa City Zoo, a small Japanese macaque named Panchi has quietly captured hearts around the world.
After being abandoned by his mother shortly after birth, zookeepers stepped in to hand-raise him. But when it was time to rejoin the troop, Panchi struggled to bond. Without a mother to cling to or guide him, he often found himself alone in the enclosure.
To comfort him, staff gave him a stuffed toy — a soft substitute he could hold onto for security and strength. Since then, he’s rarely been seen without it. He carries his plush “mom” everywhere, clutching it tightly against his chest.
A viral video turned Panchi into an internet sensation, drawing visitors eager to see the brave little monkey in person. Yet even with all the attention, he’s often spotted playing quietly by himself, holding onto the toy that helped him through his loneliest days.
