The Schools Division of Cotabato City, through the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) in partnership with UNICEF, successfully conducted today, May 7, 2026, the Joint Inception Activity for the project โEvery Child Learns: Quality Education for Marginalized Children in the Philippinesโ at the SDO Cotabato City Conference Hall.
Anchored on Regional Memorandum No. 0203, s. 2026, the activity aimed to strengthen collaboration among education stakeholders and ensure the effective implementation of the project across schools and division offices.
The initiative focuses on improving literacy and numeracy outcomes among marginalized learners under the 5Bs Program (Bawat Bata sa Bangsamoro, Bumabasa at Bumibilang). It also served as a venue to orient stakeholders on the goals, strategies, and implementation mechanisms of the project.
Participants included Schools Division officials headed by the Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Bai Rojana M. Sinsuat, ASDS Dr. Zahra I. Cerafica, Chief of the CID Benjamin M. Wahab, Education Program Supervisors for Mathematics Geroge S. Hofer, for English Dr. Rachelle T. Amando, and for Filipino Dr. Alivic B. Bilon, Public Schools District Supervisors, Division Reading and 5Bs Coordinator, and concerned school heads.
MBHTE was represented by Abdulbasit Talicop, Education Program Specialist II, while UNICEF was represented by Education Officer Abner Tolon Jr. and M&E Officer Romualdo Codera Jr.
The partnership between MBHTE and UNICEF reflects their continued commitment to providing inclusive and quality education opportunities for all learners, especially those from marginalized sectors.
The successful conduct of the activity further strengthened coordinated efforts toward achieving equitable access to education and improving learning outcomes in the Bangsamoro region.
