Cotabato Light's overall residential electricity rate dropped by P0.6114. per kilowatt hour (kWh) this February, bringing the rate down to P7.4444/kWh from P8.0557/kWh last month. This rate applies to the billing period of February 16 to March 15, 2025.

The adjustment is primarily due to a decrease in the generation charge brought about by lower market prices from the Philippine Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) in Mindanao where Cotabato Light sources a part of its power requirement. Contributing to the decrease in the power rate is the one-time refund which complies with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) directive under Resolution No. 18 Series of 2024 requiring private distribution utilities to refund customers the approved, collected, and unused fees intended for technical experts' engagement in the periodical regulatory rate reset ERC conducts.

Even with the rate reduction, Cotabato Light encourages customers to efficiently and wisely manage energy consumption to avoid high electricity bills.
