In PHOTOS of Making Respiratory Models: Creative Science Activity! Our Grade 9 MARIAM and 9 HADIGUIA students took part in a fantastic hands-on activity, creating respiratory models using recycled materials like plastic bottles, straws, and balloons.

This experience not only deepened their understanding of the respiratory system but also showcased their creativity in promoting sustainability! Great job, everyone!

IN PHOTOS of A COLORFUL EXPLORATION AND A GREAT DAY IN THE SCIENCE LABORATORY

Today, our 12 STEM students at Ibn Taimiyah Foundation Academy Inc. embarked on an exciting chromatography experiment. Using acetone as their solvent or mobile phase and ink and filter paper as the stationary phase to separate different colors and observed how they react.
Before they started, Sir Fattah demonstrated proper handwashing and how to put on (donning) and take off (doffing) surgical gloves safely.

Each group applied the basic formula for calculating Rf value in chromatography, which is:
Rf = (Distance traveled by the substance) / (Distance traveled by the solvent)

This technique can be used to analyze various mixtures, including ink, dyes, and even food coloring.
Kudos to our 12-STEMahusay for their teamwork and enthusiasm! Here's to more colorful discoveries!
