These scenes and sights taken around Bukidnon may seem surprising to some, especially to outsiders. But for those who live within this province, these are just part of daily life. This is why perspective matters, what seems odd to others might be someone’s normal.

The same is true about the stories and narratives that are told about our respective homelands, the more local the perspective, the more authentic the stories are.

Most of the time, the narratives going around the multimedia space about Mindanao are off tangent and skewed, which maybe why our homeland seems undertold. There is always something odd about the idea of outsiders telling our stories for us, when they know very little of our true context and experiences as Mindanawons. If there’s anyone who could tell Mindanao stories best, it would be us, Mindanawon storytellers.
