What's my Mobile Legends story?
As the new season for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang begins, I just want to share how my journey started.
I'm not really fairly new at mobile gaming (or gaming in general). Growing up, I had always been behind my brothers whenever they are playing. Be it PC or Console. We used to have a PlayStation shop when I was younger. I've always found "killing zombies" "fun". Hahaha! Then I started growing plants, taking care of pets, building bases on Clash of Clans, crushing candies on Facebook.
Fast forward to my high school years, my guy friends would often pick me as their 5th man. Hahahaha! (Mga walang choice, kulang player. Charot) We would play DOTA 1. I'd always end up using either Luna Moonfang or Lina Inverse. And the occasional ctrl + T (tama ba? nakalimutan ko na ung shortcut key haha!) for Tiny. Hahaha! I can't say I was good at playing, but what I can remember is I was happy with playing. Specially I get to play with my friends. We'd fill the entire computer shop with just us and sometimes we'd even throw in a few bets. Ahhh yes, high school. 💕 I also played Audition and O2jam for a bit, then Rose online hahaha! And of course the ever famous "bayan ng prontera" of Ragnarok. (Nakakaubos ng baon ung pambilig ng cards)
***insert Chiksilog lyrics coz why not???***
Magdamag nag-aabang maglalaro kaya
This I believe contributed to my role picking when I finally gave in and joined the bandwagon June of 2019. Finally, I downloaded Mobile Legends. A few weeks later, Lylia (my main ghurl) was released. I was only at Grandmaster then, my bestfriend gifted me this hero and ever since, we have been playing more than 2,000 matches up to date.
I'm still shy whenever people notice or ask if I am a "girl gamer". I've always thought that label are only reserved for those hot chicks in cosplay who dress up as Uwu girls and stream while playing. (Not to shame this girls ha, I just have a bad case of body dysmorphia. I admire these women a lot but never can I picture myself in the same light as them) But then again, thinking back, why do I really play?
It was July 2019, a few days before Lylia was released, one of my twin nieces passed away at child birth. Her name is Lalia Mirra. Which was why, probably without my intention, I poured my heart out to Lylia, thinking that she will be my tribute for Lalia--my niece. If Lia were alive today, she'd be celebrating her 2nd birthday this July 19 with Riona Mirae, her twin.
So yeah, if you ask me now, am I a [girl] gamer, I'd proudly say YES!
