The Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS) & Trauma Center in Brgy. 5, General Luna is now fully operational — ready to serve you with quality emergency care just minutes from the beach.

Officially inaugurated last November 14, 2024, the facility quietly began full-scale operations two weeks ago, according to Dr. Chloe Digal, Chief of Hospital of the Siargao Island Medical Center (SIMC).

Strategically built near Siargao’s most active tourism and surf areas, this center is designed to respond swiftly to surfing injuries, road accidents, and other emergencies. It’s equipped with:

✅ X-Ray, Ultrasound & Lab Services
✅ Resuscitation Area (5 beds)
✅ Treatment & OB Areas
✅ Minor Operating Room
✅ Pharmacy & Diagnostics
✅ Trained Emergency Nurses & Standby Ambulance

And yes — ALL SERVICES ARE FREE!

BUCAS & Trauma Center also functions as an Outpatient Department (OPD) and Emergency Room (ER) to help ease the load on the main SIMC hospital in Dapa.

Currently open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the center hopes to extend its hours soon as staffing increases.

Another gem has just been added to the ever-growing charm of General Luna — the newly built General Luna Community Market was officially inaugurated and blessed last April 14 in Poblacion 1, and it’s looking fresh, clean, and tourist-friendly!

Thanks to the support of Senator Migz Zubiri, who funded this exciting project, and the leadership of Mayor Sol Matugas and Cong. Bingo Matugas, the dream of having an organized and vibrant local market has finally come true for the Lunanians.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by DILG Undersecretary Romeo P. Benitez, who led the ribbon cutting, together with local officials and respected guests — including Atty. Lalo Matugas, Market Supervisor Emelyn Digmaan, DPWH Engineer De Anne dela Vega, and other stakeholders who helped bring this vision to life.
