Sa bawat pawis na pumapatak at bawat oras na iniaalay, dito tunay na nasusukat ang lakas ng isang bayan. Hindi sa taas ng gusali, hindi sa dami ng yaman, kundi sa sipag, tiyaga, at sakripisyo ng mga manggagawang araw-araw lumalaban para sa sarili, sa pamilya, at sa kinabukasan ng bansa.

Ngayong Araw ng Paggawa, hindi lang ito simpleng pagdiriwang. Isa itong paalala na ang bawat kamay na kumikilos—mula sa magsasaka, mangingisda, g**o, drayber, construction worker, hanggang sa mga nasa opisina—ay pundasyon ng ating lipunan. Walang maliit na ambag. Walang trabahong walang halaga. Lahat may dignidad, lahat may saysay.

Patuloy nating ipaglaban ang karapatan ng bawat manggagawa—makatarungang sahod, ligtas na trabaho, at respeto na nararapat sa bawat isa. Dahil ang pag-unlad ng bayan ay hindi makakamit kung ang mga taong nagpapagal ay napapabayaan.

Sa huli, ang tunay na bayani ay hindi lang nasa kasaysayan. Sila ay buhay, kumikilos, at patuloy na nagsisikap sa kasalukuyan.

Maligayang Araw ng Paggawa. Para sa sarili. Para sa kapwa. Para sa bayan.

Araw ng Kagitingan....

Ngayong ika-9 ng Abril, ginugunita natin ang isa sa pinakamahalagang araw sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas — ang Araw ng Kagitingan. Ito ay isang paalala ng hindi matatawarang tapang ng mga Pilipinong sundalo na lumaban at nagbuwis ng buhay noong Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig.

Ang araw na ito ay higit pa sa pag-alaala sa mga pangyayari noon; ito ay pagkilala sa bawat patak ng pawis at dugo na inialay nila upang tayo ay mabuhay sa isang bansang malaya. Ang kanilang sakripisyo ay nagbigay inspirasyon hindi lamang sa kanilang henerasyon, kundi maging sa ating lahat ngayon. Sila ang nagturo sa atin ng tunay na kahulugan ng pagmamahal sa bayan, pagkakaisa, at katatagan sa harap ng matinding pagsubok.

Magbigay pugay tayo sa ating mga bayani, lumang henerasyon man o moderno. Nawa'y ang kanilang diwa ng kagitingan ay patuloy na magliyab sa ating puso, at magsilbing gabay upang mas maging matatag at mapagmahal sa ating bayang sinilangan.
