Batch 2022 cadets proudly celebrated the end of their academic journey and the beginning of their careers as maritime professionals during the launching ceremony held at the MMMA Gymnasium on July 4, 2025.

For three years, "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲" hasn't just been a social media page; 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.

Within these digital walls, they have captured every stride, every event, and documenting the journey of cadets.

Behind every beaming smile captured in a photograph, behind every celebrated success story, lies a testament to your commitment. The 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, felt the pressures, and watched you rise above every challenge. You showed up, day after day, making things not just good, but truly the best. 𝗔 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗜𝗰𝗼𝗻

On the morning of 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, the MMMA community gathered in solemn respect during the traditional 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀 ceremony to honor the 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗧𝗼𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼 𝗛𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗺𝗮, 𝗠𝗢𝗟 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 and a beloved figure in the maritime world.

Led by MMMA President Dr. Michael C. Morales, Head of the Office of Cadet Affairs Rear Admiral Sir Samuel Z. Felix, formation officers, staff, and cadets, the community paid tribute to Dr. Hikima’s decades-long service and enduring impact on maritime education and leadership.

In 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲, Dr. Hikima 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝘀𝘂𝗶 𝗢.𝗦.𝗞. 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗠𝗢𝗟). He proudly recognized the nearly 10,000 Filipino seafarers under MOL, commending their skill, professionalism, and global reputation. He also acknowledged the continual growth of MMMA and expressed confidence in its future as a training ground for world-class maritime leaders.

As the ceremony concluded, the MMMA community stood in unity to sing the MMMA Hymn an emotional expression of honor, pride, and farewell.

For Dr. Hikima, it was more than a goodbye; it was a final salute from a community he deeply touched, a heartfelt bid of farewell from the institution he believed in.

On 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, a new chapter began as 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 the eight batch to enter the MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy as they embarked on the defining step of their journey: the 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 (𝗖𝗖𝗢𝗣). Through the 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗠𝗠𝗔 𝗪𝗮𝘆, they will be shaped into Excellence, Discipline, and Service individuals worthy of the title 𝗠𝗠𝗠𝗔 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘁.

Today marks a moment of pride, purpose, and passage. After 1,030 days of shared trials, triumphs, and transformation, Batch 2022 “𝗔𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝘀” is formally launched into their next chapter their year at sea.

This Academic Recognition and Launching Ceremony honors not only the cadets’ accomplishments, but also the unwavering support of the people who made this day possible the Academy’s Instructors, Formation officers, MMMA staff, proud families, and partners who stood behind them through every wave.

A special acknowledgment to the Batch Officers, whose quiet strength, dedication, and leadership helped shape the path walked by many. Your service echoes far beyond today.

As 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 prepares to embark on the next chapter of their journey, we pay tribute to one of its most service-driven leaders—the outgoing Community Relations Officer. This officer has gone above and beyond in fulfilling the duty to connect, uplift, and represent the academy with pride in every community engagement. It was a role performed not just with action, but with heart.

𝗖𝗱𝘁.𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗣. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗹, 20 years old, proudly hails from Rizal, Occidental Mindoro. Currently serving as the Fleet Community Relations Officer, he brings stories to life from behind the lens as a photographer, videographer, video editor, and photo editor capturing the essence of cadet life with dedication and creativity. He is also part of the MMMA Buccaneers as a Middle Blocker, where he brings the same energy, discipline, and teamwork from the court into his service and leadership roles. His leadership is quiet yet impactful, rooted in purpose and a deep sense of service. Though much of his work remains behind the scenes, its influence is seen across the academy from polished frames to heartfelt narratives.

Guided by the words, " 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 ” Neil embraces every opportunity with the belief that the path forward lies in initiative, growth, and self-made purpose. 𝗖𝗱𝘁. 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘇𝗮, 21 years old, hails from Tanagan, Calatagan, Batangas. A former Fleet Community Relations Officer (1st Semester), he currently serves as the Head Layout Artist, of The Lighthouse – MMMA, where the beauty of the academy and the stories of every cadet are brought to life. As a hybrid officer, he immersed himself in multiple roles, photographer, scriptwriter, correspondent, news writer, with layout design as his true forte. He leads with empathy, always prioritizing the well-being of his team, knowing that the workload behind the camera is often overlooked.

Christian also serves as a Class Officer (Special Projects Officer), a Peer Facilitator, and Executive Officer for Membership. He is a proud member of MMMA Maneuvers and a varsity athlete, wearing jersey number 2 as the Libero of the MMMA Buccaneers.
Each leadership role has shaped him into a true servant leader. For him, awards are not the ultimate legacy, it’s about creating meaningful and lasting change in the lives of fellow cadets and contributing to the institution as a whole. 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁

MMMA Cadets from 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 “𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗢𝗦𝗦” gathered at the MMMA Gymnasium for a special 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝗜𝗻 event, together with the Academy President, MOL and MMC Representatives, Formation Officers, and other academy staff.

The event was held to help cadets practice proper table manners, social etiquette, and formal dining behavior, important skills for future maritime professionals. It was also a time to celebrate their academy journey as the launching ceremony approaches.

Wearing their best uniforms and formal clothes, cadets showed respect, confidence, and professionalism throughout the evening. The program included a full-course meal, and messages of encouragement. The presence of honorable guests made the event even more meaningful.

The Fine Dining night became a memorable experience for everyone, showing that the MMMA not only trains cadets for a job, but for life, preparing them to lead the seas.
