The fire ignited last November 4 at SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig. Organized by ๐ง๐๐๐ก๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ป๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ in partnership with ๐จ๐ก๐๐ฆ๐๐ข, the conference brought together educators, students, leaders, and media and information literacy (MIL) advocates to shed light on the importance of media and information literacy in todayโs digital era, encouraging everyone to โ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ช๐ฃ๐โ, and stand firm against misinformation through education, media, and technology.
Carrying the theme โ๐๐ง๐ช๐ฉ๐ ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐ง๐: ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ค๐ฌ๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ ๐พ๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ก ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ฃ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ผ๐๐ ๐ค๐ ๐ผ.๐.โ, the conference gathered leaders from the government, academe, media, and technology sectors to ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ against misinformation and disinformation, and to promote responsible use of artificial intelligence
Speakers underscored the growing threat of AI-powered disinformation, synthetic media, and algorithm-driven echo chambers that distort truth at an unprecedented speed and scale. They called for collective action to address the countryโs media and literacy gaps, warning that a society unprepared to navigate an AI-saturated environment risks being overwhelmed by misinformation.
THINKaMuna Pilipinas stressed that media and information literacy is now a ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐น. Through initiatives like ๐ ๐๐๐๐ข๐ก 2025, it seeks to cultivate critical thinking and responsible information-sharing among Filipinos.
