What began as routine coverage for Dominick Guzman, a DLSU-D student, and two independent journalists from Kilusang Setyembre Bente Uno (KS21), quickly unfolded into a tense encounter on November 30 during Baha sa Luneta 2.0, when unidentified police officers approached and later detained them at the Bonifacio Day mobilization.

The Academia Lasalliana Journal of Education and Humanities (ALJEH), DLSU-D’s peer-reviewed journal, has been reaccredited for continued inclusion in the Andrew Gonzalez Philippine Citation Index (AGPCI) until December 31, 2028, citing its sustained adherence to editorial standards and publication quality.

In a statement, the ALJEH editorial team expressed appreciation for the recommendations provided by the AGPCI, noting that these would guide further improvements in the journal’s editorial practices.

The team added that the reaccreditation strengthens ALJEH’s standing as an academic platform and supports its preparations for broader international indexing.

Journals listed in the AGPCI are evaluated based on consistency in editorial rigor, peer-review processes, and overall publication quality.

Throughout our lives, we are urged to keep pace with the majority, only reaping the rewards once we loosen our grip on what makes us human—once we squeeze every last bit of ourselves out as a countermeasure to pressure. In this process, things that don't exist but should begin to take root in our minds, either as a means to escape or a mere bubble of comfort.

For Volume 40’s Heraldoodles, we capture the art of difference and delays, playfully reminding us of our shared vulnerabilities and raw longings.

To many outsiders, DLSU-D embodies prestige—modern buildings, green spaces, and a “high-end” academic environment often associated with the Lasallian name. Yet behind this polished exterior are uneven development, accessibility issues, and persistent questions about whether the promised “Lasallian experience” truly reflects on-the-ground realities students face and the rising cost of education.

We have been told to slow down discussions on the University’s loss of autonomous status, to stop posting low board exam performance results, and to delete reports because they were “not good for the University’s image.”

These practices contradict the very principles of a free student press.

This season of giving and long journeys home, pasalubong becomes more than a gift—it is love made visible, carried across miles in worn bags and weary hands. Wrapped within each package are hours of labor, missed dinners, and quiet sacrifices, all borne homeward so that families, especially at Christmas, know they were never forgotten.

Pasalubong bridges distance, reminding us that the heart of the season is not found in price tags but in the simple sacred act of thinking of home while away. It tells us that the best gifts are not bought, but brought home with the heart.

ICYMI: Humor is an art of timing and coordination. As the sound of laughter echoes, we reflect on the stories that resonate with our culture. It opens the door to a vibrant space—one that invites creativity and enriches our spirits.

On November 29, Anak sa Laughter took center stage. The program featured members of The Comedy Crew, a collective of stand-up comedians whose routines connect audiences through Filipino humor drawn from lived stories.

Tahimik.
