Nudibranchs come in over 3,000 species, each flaunting wild colors and patterns. Their name means “naked gills,” and those fluffy bits on their back are how they breathe! Despite their beauty, many steal poison from what they eat and use it as defense ⚡—while others go full sci-fi and photosynthesize by stealing algae’s superpower, becoming solar-powered slugs ☀️. They may be tiny (just 2–6 cm), but they’re absolute supermodels for underwater photographers 📸.
Would you call them cute sea slugs or deadly underwater divas? 👀
