A new study reveals that committing to just 75 minutes of running or jogging each week may significantly slow biological aging. Researchers found that adults who met this threshold had longer telomeres, the protective caps on chromosomes that shorten with age. Longer telomeres are strongly linked with healthier, younger cells and reduced risk of age-related diseases.

The results showed that consistent runners had a biological age up to 12 years younger than non-runners, even when diet, smoking, and other lifestyle factors were considered. This means that only about 11 minutes of running per day is enough to activate powerful anti-aging benefits at the cellular level.

Running not only extends cellular youth but also strengthens the cardiovascular system, improves lung function, boosts mood, and helps maintain a healthy weight. It triggers the release of endorphins, reduces stress hormones, and enhances sleep quality, all of which further support longevity.

The study confirms that exercise doesnโ€™t need to be extreme to deliver profound effects. A short, steady commitment to running or jogging weekly can give the body the tools it needs to stay healthier, stronger, and biologically younger for years to come.
