While it looks peaceful, nature's power is always unpredictable. It's a somber reminder to always stay vigilant and prioritize safety when enjoying the great outdoors. 🙏

Safety Tips for Visiting Waterfalls ⚠️

Before You Go
* Check the weather. Look up the forecast not just for the falls, but for the entire watershed area, including upstream. Heavy rain kilometers away can cause a flash flood.
* Tell someone your plans. Inform a friend or family member about where you're going and when you expect to return. This is crucial in case of an emergency.
While at the Falls
* Stay aware of your surroundings. Pay attention to changes in the water, such as increased flow, cloudiness, or debris. A sudden roar or a change in the water's color can be a warning sign of a flash flood.
* Avoid certain areas. Do not set up camp or rest on low-lying rocks near the riverbed, as these are the first to be submerged in a flood. * Have an escape plan. Identify high ground and know where you would go if the water level suddenly rises.
* Don't ignore the signs. If you hear a distant roar, see the water getting murky, or notice an increase in its flow, leave immediately. It's better to be safe than sorry.

After a Flash Flood
* Stay away. Do not attempt to cross a flooded river or go near the falls immediately after a heavy rain. The water can still be turbulent, and the ground may be unstable.
