Nature needs its beauty sleep! 🌿✨

Lake Holon is officially taking a break for its annual conservation period starting January 3, until March 2026. While we’ll miss these views, we love that T'boli is keeping this paradise pristine for years to come.

Samal is giving me all the main character energy today. 🌤

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙂𝙚𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 📍

Step 1: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙍𝙞𝙙𝙚 ⛴️
Go to Sasa Wharf (the one near Km. 11). If you have a car, just drive it onto the barge. If you’re commuting, it’s only like ₱20 per person. So cheap, right?

Step 2: 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝘽𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙠 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙩 📍
Once you land in Babak, you have two choices:
The "Hired Driver" Way: Hire a habal-habal (motorcycle) or a tricycle/bao-bao.
The "I have my own wheels" Way: Use Waze or Google Maps! It’s about a 30-40 minute drive from the port. The roads are a bit shookt (bumpy) in some parts, but the view is worth it.

Step 3: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 🏖️
Once you’re at Uraya Beach Resort, you can enjoy the clear water. 🌊

𝙋𝙧𝙤-𝙏𝙞𝙥: Bring your own baon if you’re picky with food, but they do have cottages there!

Standing where the mountains meet the sea! 🌊⛰️
Found this hidden gem at Kagan 𝘿𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙨𝙖𝙖𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙖𝙠 and the 360-degree view is absolutely worth the climb.

📍𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙂𝙚𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚
Kagan Dinagsaan Peak is located in Sitio Dinagsaan, Brgy. Puntalinao, Banaybanay, Davao Oriental.
From Davao City: Take a bus (Bachelor Express) or van bound for Mati City at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT).
Drop-off Point: Ask the driver to drop you off at Barangay Puntalinao in Banaybanay. Look for the "Welcome Park" or signs for the entry point to Davao Oriental.
To the Jump-off: From the highway, you can take a habal-habal (motorcycle taxi) to the Barangay Tribal Hall or the starting point in Sitio Dinagsaan.

It is important to register and sign a waiver at the Tribal Hall before starting your trek. 👣

✨ 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙨 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝘿𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙨𝙖𝙖𝙣 𝙋𝙚𝙖𝙠
●𝘼𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙤𝙪𝙩: The peak is culturally significant to the Kagan (or Kalagan) tribe. Historically, it served as a lookout point for their ancestors to watch over their territory and the coastline for intruders.

●The name "𝙆𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙣" is derived from a word meaning "to warn," reflecting the tribe's history of signaling others during times of invasion.

●𝘽𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙮: With an elevation of approximately 760 MASL, it is considered a great peak for beginners, though it still features a fun "assault" trail that keeps things exciting.

●𝘽𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙮: The trail is known for its diverse flora. The small pink flowers you found are common in the area's open trails, which transition from fern fields into dense, cooler forests near the summit.

●𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙: The local community and trekkers strongly advocate for Leave No Trace principles to preserve the sacred land of the Kagan people.

The mansion is known for its neo-classic Italian architecture, with majestic columns and carved details.
The property features beautiful, well-maintained landscaped gardens.
