HAPPENING NOW | MMFC's White Coat and Pinning Ceremony of the College of Optometry 2025

Today, August 21, 2025, the College of Optometry's White Coat and Pinning Ceremony embarks at The Pinnacle Hotel and Suites, Davao City with the theme, "Ora Serrata: The Treshold of Vision, The Beginning of Purpose".

With pride and joy, the senior clinicians are now pinned and coated. Together with their proud parents and instructors, everyone is celebrating this joyful moment, having 38 candidates, which signifies the true essence of responsibility, compassion and importance of the Optometry profession.

The Nursing and Midwifery Department conducted its Departmental Orientation for A.Y. 2025-2026 this afternoon, August 19, 2025. The orientation highlighted departmental policies, grading system, and clinical requirements to guide students for this school year. To make the event more memorable, a fun photo booth was also prepared for the students to enjoy.

𝑯𝑨𝑷𝑷𝑬𝑵𝑰𝑵𝑮 𝑵𝑶𝑾 | 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐰 𝐒𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐚, 𝐊𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐠 𝐬𝐚 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐡𝐢

In celebration of the Sight Saving Month, “Kalinaw sa Mata, Kahayag sa Kinabuhi”, a medical mission dedicated to senior citizens, is currently underway at the Agdao Elementary School Covered Court, Brgy. Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Sr., Agdao, Davao City.

The event is powered by the dedication of volunteers from the MMFC-College of Optometry, Dentistry, and Physical Therapy, who are providing free eye, dental, and physical therapy assessments to the elderly on-site. Their commitment and hands-on care embody the mission’s spirit of compassion and service.

This initiative is made possible through the collaboration of the Mindanao Medical Foundation College, Alterado General Hospital, Rotary Club of Waling-Waling Davao, Rotary Club of East Davao, National Commission of Senior Citizens, Philippine Dental Association - Davao Chapter, Davao IMD Surgery, Optometric Association of the Philippines, PhilHealth, and the City Health Office.

The MMFC–College of Dentistry proudly hosts this year’s White Coat and Pinning Ceremony, themed “Stepping Into Service: A New Chapter Defined by Dedication, Compassion, and Courage in Dental Care”, at Ballroom A and B of the Apo View Hotel, Davao City.

This milestone gathering unites the esteemed Faculty, dedicated Staff, supportive Administration, and the newly appointed Dean of College of Dentistry, Dr. Raul Delosa, DMD, MPA, in honoring the dedication and celebrating the milestones of 75 candidates as they don their white coats and receive their pins, marking the official beginning of their noble journey as dental clinicians.

𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | In an inspiring highlight of Mindanao Medical Foundation College’s 43rd Commencement Exercise, distinguished alumni 𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗲 𝗖. 𝗦𝗲𝗱𝗲ñ𝗼 and 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝗕. 𝗟𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗴, who ranked 2nd and 4th respectively in the October 2024 Optometrist Licensure Examination, returned not only as topnotchers but as voices of inspiration sharing their journey, struggles, and triumphs that now stand as a beacon for the graduating class. Their presence underscored MMFC’s commitment to excellence and the power of purpose-driven education.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦, 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

A total of 𝟯𝟱𝟯 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 from Mindanao Medical Foundation College, Academic Year 2024–2025, were formally honored and presented by Concepcion Domag, RN, MAN; 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚, and certified by Mrs. Maribel Naranjo; 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙧, as eligible for graduation—having satisfactorily completed the academic and institutional requirements prescribed by MMFC and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Their graduation was then confirmed by the 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩; Ma’am Amie Theresa Alterado-Bautista, entitling them to receive the tertiary certificate of graduation.

This moment marks not only the culmination of their academic pursuit but also the beginning of their professional journey, anchored in 𝓮𝔁𝓬𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮, 𝓼𝓮𝓻𝓿𝓲𝓬𝓮, and 𝓹𝓾𝓻𝓹𝓸𝓼𝓮.

𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 | Mindanao Medical Foundation College (MMFC) is currently commemorating the 43rd Graduation Rites held at SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier for the Batch of 2025 Graduates for their milestone as they venture this transition. From being a student in the campus with what it feels like having a never-ending to-do list of school work howbeit it does come to an end. To now celebrating the end of this chapter and beginning a new one as professionals in their prespective work fields.
