Wow im so proud to you me anne🥰🥰🥰
In celebration of National Women's Month, the Philippine Embassy in Jordan proudly features Filipinas based in the Kingdom who are contributing to Jordanian society through their work.
This year’s campaign aims to pursue gender equality through greater representation of Filipinas in Jordan, fostering understanding among different communities in the Kingdom, and more importantly, highlighting the work that they do as international civil servants.
Today, let us meet Ms. Anastacia Repoyo of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
Ms. Repoyo has been involved in humanitarian and development projects for over 20 years in the Philippines and globally in the field of procurement and supply chain, human resources, finance management, and operations. Over the years, she has been assigned to various difficult duty stations, usually for post-conflict or post-earthquake reconstruction and development programs.
She was assigned to Jordan during the Covid-19 pandemic year of 2021 as the Head of Support Services of the UNOPS covering multi-countries (Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan) in the Arab States with a base duty station in Amman, Jordan.
Ms. Repoyo has this to say:
“I love this job at UNOPS because I contribute to changing people's lives and I have the opportunity to empower and develop local capacities, most particularly the women under my area of coverage through coaching and mentoring.
For young women who are just starting their journey, do not limit yourself. Keep on exploring and exploiting your capacities. Someday you will be amazed at what you’ve achieved. Advance your career journey one step at a time. Believe you can, and you’re halfway there (Theodore Roosevelt).
The most significant factor that brings me to what I am today is my faith in God, respect for my fellow human beings, and self-determination. I trust and commit to God my desires and my plans with reverend and obedience. Additionally, respecting diversity in individuals' beliefs, cultures, and traditions toward colleagues is equally essential as my driving force.
The best thing I have learned in my career is to take every opportunity that comes my way having in mind that every responsibility I take comes with accountability. So I do explore, expand, and enjoy my career responsibly.
I am a proud Filipina! We are versatile, multi-talented, and resilient. We have the ability to create a positive environment in the midst of challenging circumstances around us. In this constantly changing world, we can make a difference.”
