Camp Sgt. Quintin M. Merecido, Buhangin, Davao City โ The Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) headed by its Regional Director PBGEN LEON VICTOR Z ROSETE successfully ensured the peaceful and orderly conduct of a protest rally held in different parts of Region 11, in connection with the Fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) of HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT FERDINAND R MARCOS, JR., on July 28, 2026.
A total of 1,772 police personnel from the Davao City Police Office, the five (5) Police Provincial Offices, the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 11, and National Support Units 11 were strategically deployed to provide security, maintain public order, and ensure the safety of both rally participants and the general public throughout the activity.
The protest, which was attended by members of various progressive and sectoral organizations, including Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), Kabataan Party-list, and their allied groups. During the activity, the participants raised various social, political, labor, education, and governance-related concerns while exercising their constitutional right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
The activity was concluded peacefully at around without any untoward incident or breach of peace.
Throughout the activity, police personnel maintained maximum tolerance and strictly adhered to established police operational procedures. Security forces remained on standby and continuously monitored their respective areas of responsibility to ensure public safety, facilitate traffic flow, prevent criminal activities, and promptly respond to any emergency that may arise.
PBGEN ROSETE commended all deployed personnel for their professionalism, discipline, and restraint in carrying out their duties.
