The Department of Education – Davao City Division is pleased to announce the resumption of regular face-to-face classes starting October 20, 2025. This decision comes after a thorough evaluation of structural integrity, utility restoration, and seismic activity reports, confirming that all schools are safe for the return of learners, teachers, and non-teaching personnel.

𝗔𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗱.

We are pleased to announce that regular face-to-face classes will resume on Monday, October 20, 2025, following thorough safety assessments and consultations with local authorities. The previously implemented modular, asynchronous, or blended learning modalities, enacted on October 15, 2025, are hereby lifted.

The safety and stability of our community remain our top priority. After careful evaluation of structural integrity, utility restoration, and seismic activity reports, we confirm that schools are safe for the return of all learners and personnel.

Teaching and non-teaching personnel are required to report onsite beginning October 20, 2025, to resume regular operations. Teachers are directed to facilitate a smooth transition back to in-person learning, address any gaps from the interim period, and ensure all learners receive necessary academic support.

𝗪𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀:
➡️Will students continue with blended learning?
➡️Are teachers still working from home?

✅ The answer is YES — for now.

When the Department of Education (DepEd) states “𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲,” it means the current learning setup remains in place until an official directive is issued.

💡𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀:
– Blended learning will continue
– Asynchronous classes remain in effect
– Learning modules will still be used

In light of the recent twin earthquakes and ongoing aftershocks, the Department of Education – Davao City Division will shift to 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿, 𝗔𝘀𝘆𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 beginning 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲. This decision is made to ensure the safety and well-being of all learners.

Teachers are not required to report onsite, but must continue to facilitate learning remotely, monitor student progress, and provide necessary academic support.

The Department of Education – Davao City Division has announced that all schools in the city will transition to blended learning until further notice, as a safety measure due to the ongoing aftershocks being experienced.

𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓!

To safeguard the welfare of all students due to the recent twin tremors and its aftershocks, DepEd Davao City Division will implement MODULAR, AND ASYNCHRONOUS or BLENDED LEARNING starting tomorrow, October 15, 2025 until further notice.

Teaching personnel are not required to report onsite, while non-teaching personnel shall continue to report to ensure the continuity of essential school operations.

Teachers are also directed to monitor the conduct of blended learning, ensure the continuity of learning activities, and provide necessary learner support.

We are pleased to inform everyone that, following the recent earthquake and a thorough inspection by safety authorities, all main school buildings have been declared safe for occupancy.

However, please be advised that the school gym sustained structural damage and will remain off-limits until further notice. For your safety, do not enter or go near the gym area at all times.

𝐖𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐆𝐒𝐍𝐇𝐒

A new opportunity in sports is set to open for learners of Leon Garcia Sr. National High School as the school prepares to offer weightlifting as part of its athletic program.

As a first step, a weightlifting demonstration was held on September 24, 2025, at the school gym under the initiative of the MAPEH Department and with the leadership of Mrs. Mariebeth Faith Madriaga, who will serve as the weightlifting coach. Teachers who were available also joined the activity to experience the fundamentals of the sport.

Highlighting the event was the participation of Northwest World Champion athletes, who taught proper techniques and shared their expertise with the students and teachers. Their presence not only inspired the learners but also emphasized the potential of weightlifting as a sport that builds strength, discipline and character.

The introduction of weightlifting at LGSNHS marks another milestone in expanding sports programs for students, offering them new avenues to develop their skills, pursue excellence and uphold the values of dedication and perseverance.

𝐏𝐓𝐀 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞–𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐆𝐒𝐍𝐇𝐒

Parents, teachers and school officials came together on September 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. for the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) General Assembly, a gathering that highlighted unity and collaboration in supporting learners’ growth and academic success.

An invocation led by Mr. Gerry Pulong, Grade 7–Ilang Ilang adviser, opened the program followed by the national anthem conducted by Ms. Karen B. Daanton, Grade 7–Carnation adviser. Mr. Roger Victor Dela Cruz, Head Teacher of the TLE Department, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the vital role of unity and cooperation in achieving the school’s goals.

Adding color to the event, the LGSNHS Choir serenaded the audience under the direction of Mr. John Russel Morales, who also served as the Master of Ceremony. Afterward, important orientations were conducted starting with the PhilHealth Yakap Orientation, which aimed to inform parents about healthcare benefits and the ARAL Orientation presented by Mr. Oriel Estrera, Head Teacher of the English Department.

The ARAL Program introduced by the Department of Education, aims to provide academic recovery and accessible learning opportunities to struggling learners. Parents were also encouraged to be part of the program, recognizing their vital role in reinforcing support and guidance at home.

Reports from PTA Treasurer Mr. Art Ebajan and PTA President Mr. Bernard John Montemayor provided transparency and updates on the association’s projects. During her message, School Principal Creseline R. Abina expressed her gratitude and encouraged parents to remain actively involved in school activities, stressing that education is a shared responsibility between home and school.

A closing prayer led by Mr. Nathan R. Baguio, senior high school teacher, formally concluded the gathering, leaving a renewed sense of commitment among parents and teachers to work hand-in-hand in creating a supportive environment for LGSNHS learners.

Leon Garcia Sr. National High School formally opened its Mathematics Month Celebration on September 22, 2025, with the theme “Mathematics, Arts and Creativity.” The opening program was hosted by Ms. Ryña Demandante and Mr. Norie Jhon Canoy, who guided the learners throughout the event.

The program featured a trivia contest for each grade level, where students eagerly competed to give the correct answers. Tokens were awarded to winners, adding excitement and fun to the activity.

A highlight of the program was the Rubik’s Cube competition, which brought together last year’s champion and a new contender. In an impressive display of skill, the Grade 10 participant completed the cube in the fastest time, securing the victory.

In closing, the Mathematics Department encouraged students to take part in the different activities and contests prepared for the month-long celebration. Teachers also reminded learners to coordinate with their Mathematics teachers for updates and announcements.
