Nagdaos ng makabuluhang programa ang paaralan ngayong araw, Hulyo 31, bilang pagtatapos ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Nutrisyon na may temang “Sa PPAN: Sama‑sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat” at sub-temang “Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!”

Pinangunahan ng TLE Department ang aktibidad na may layuning paigtingin ang kaalaman ng mga mag-aaral, g**o at kawani tungkol sa kahalagahan ng tamang nutrisyon sa pang-araw-araw na buhay.

Ipinamalas ng mga mag-aaral mula sa iba't ibang baitang ang kanilang talento at pagkamalikhain sa pamamagitan ng iba't ibang patimpalak gaya ng pagsulat ng sanaysay, Nutri Jingle Competition, Slogan at Poster Making Contest. Ang mga nanalo ay ginawaran ng pagkilala at parangal sa isinagawang programa.

Ang matagumpay na pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Nutrisyon ay patunay ng patuloy na suporta ng pamunuan ng paaralan sa mga programang pangkalusugan ng Department of Education, kasabay ng layuning mahubog ang mga kabataan bilang malusog, may disiplina at responsableng mamamayan.

𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐆𝐒𝐍𝐇𝐒

Leon Garcia Sr. National High School held a Dedication and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for its newly constructed school gate and classroom partitions on July 28, 2025.

The program was led by School Principal Ma’am Creseline R. Abina and Assistant to the Principal Sir Nicomel Anthony M. Estorque, with the dedication prayer offered by Pastor Gerry Pulong and Pastor Nathan Roy Baguio. They prayed for God’s blessing and protection over the school and its new facilities.

In her message, Ma’am Abina shared her joy and said she felt the presence and grace of God during the event. She also mentioned that it was a meaningful moment because the ceremony unexpectedly happened on the school’s foundation day, which she believed was a sign of God’s perfect plan.

The ceremony was witnessed by school personnel, who gathered to celebrate the improvement of the school environment. The new gate aims to strengthen campus safety, while the classroom partitions are expected to create a more organized and focused learning space for students.

This development is part of the school’s ongoing efforts to improve its facilities and provide a better place for learning.

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐆𝐒𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐏𝐓𝐀 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲

Parents and school staff of Leon Garcia Sr. National High School gathered in the afternoon of July 24, 2025 for the General PTA Assembly, aiming to strengthen the partnership between home and school for the academic year 2025–2026.

The program was emceed by Sir Norie Jhon Canoy, who led the flow of the assembly with clarity and confidence.

Sir Nicomel Anthony M. Estorque, Assistant to the Principal, opened the program with a warm message, emphasizing the value of strong home-school partnerships in achieving student success.

One of the highlights of the event was the introduction of the newly elected PTA Officers for the current school year, followed by a financial report presentation, ensuring transparency in the use of school-related funds.

Grade level advisers and subject teachers were also introduced to the parents by the respective Curriculum Heads, helping build familiarity and rapport between families and educators.

School Principal Ma’am Creseline R. Abina shared important announcements regarding the school’s current and upcoming projects, class schedules and the DepEd-Authorized Voluntary School Contributions (VSCs). She also expressed her gratitude to the parents for their continued support.

The event ended on a positive note, with both parents and school personnel committing to work hand in hand for the success and well-being of all LGSNHS learners.

𝐋𝐆𝐒𝐍𝐇𝐒 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥

Leon Garcia Sr. National High School successfully conducted a Drug Awareness, Prevention and Intervention Learning Session on July 24, 2025, with the theme “Pagbarog sa Kaugalingon, Paglambo sa Kaugmaon,” at the school gymnasium.

The session held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon was attended by all teaching and non-teaching personnel. It aimed to increase understanding of the dangers of illegal drugs, promote prevention and encourage active involvement in building a healthy and drug-free community.

Guest speaker from the PDEA Davao City Office, gave an in-depth discussion on the various types of illegal drugs, their harmful effects and early signs of drug involvement. She also emphasized proactive ways that school staff and community members can work together to prevent substance abuse.

Spearheaded by the School Guidance Office, under the leadership of Ma’am Johanni T. Estoque, Guidance Counselor II, the event was made possible through the support of School Principal, Ma’am Creseline R. Abina and Sir Nicomel Anthony M. Estorque, Assistant to the Principal.

The activity served as a reminder of the importance of education, awareness and shared responsibility in promoting a safe and drug-free environment.

A meaningful leadership transition unfolded at Leon Garcia Sr. National High School through the Ceremonial Turn-Over of Responsibilities held on July 9, 2025 at 1:30 p.m., highlighting the school's continued commitment to excellence, collaboration and shared governance.

The installation and message were delivered by Josie T. Bolofer, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent and Engr. Armando S. Morales, Cluster 14 PSDS. Their messages emphasized the importance of leadership grounded in service, responsibility and vision.

A formal Turn-Over Message was delivered by Jeffrey C. Bacalso, Principal II who expressed his gratitude and officially transferred key responsibilities to the incoming leadership. This was followed by the Hand Over Ceremony of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and School Banner, symbolizing the continuation of the school’s mission.

Creseline R. Abina, Assistant Principal II expressed her heartfelt appreciation and commitment to fulfill the duties entrusted to her with integrity and dedication.

Offering words of support, Faculty Club President Nathan Roy P. Baguio delivered a message addressed to the new school leadership, affirming the unity of the faculty and their collective dedication to the school’s goals.

The program concluded with inspiring closing remarks from Nicomel Anthony F. Estorque, Assistant to the Principal, who underscored unity and collaborative effort as key to institutional success.

The entire ceremony was gracefully facilitated by Oriel M. Estrera, SPFL HT II, who served as Master of Ceremony. This memorable event reflected the school’s unwavering commitment to nurturing responsible leadership and sustaining a legacy of excellence.

Leon Garcia Sr. National High School successfully held its Club Recruitment Day, an engaging and purposeful activity spearheaded by the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) that introduced students to various co-curricular organizations designed to enhance leadership, promote service and support holistic student development. The event took place on July 4, 2025, and served as a platform for learners to discover and join clubs aligned with their interests and advocacies.

Each club was given the opportunity to present its goals, advocacies and accomplishments, encouraging students to explore and choose the organization that best fits their interests and passions. Participating clubs included Project WATCH (We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty), Red Cross Youth Responders, YES-O (Youth for Environment in Schools Organization), Wrestling Club, Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), Campus Journalism, Kasikas Talatug Guild, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Peer Facilitators.
