Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI) Announces Change of Company Name to Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines, Inc. (CCEAP)

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI) has changed the company’s legal name from “Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc.” to “Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines, Inc.” (CCEAP).

“Our new name signifies an exciting new phase in our journey as we reaffirm our commitment to serving our customers, supporting our people and communities, and driving long-term growth for the country. In the 113 years that Coca-Cola has called the Philippines home, we look forward to a hundred more years of refreshing our consumers and making a difference through our Great People, Great Beverages, Great Ex*****on, and Great Partners — Done Sustainably,” says Gareth McGeown, President and CEO of CCEAP.

Following the announcement on 23 February 2024 on the completed acquisition of CCEAP by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Plc (CCEP) and Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. (AEV), the company has obtained approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission for the change of company name to be used effective 15 January 2025.

Sabin Aboitiz, President and CEO of Aboitiz Group says, “More than anything, this new name represents the strength of our partnership with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners. Senator B**g Go joins INC peace rally; calls for peace and unity to address challenges and highlights Filipinos' right to peaceful assembly

Senator Christopher “B**g” Go underscored the importance of peace and unity during the National Peace Rally organized by Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) on Monday, January 13. In an interview, the senator urged all leaders and citizens to prioritize unity to effectively address the needs of the people, particularly the underprivileged.

“Maraming salamat po sa pamunuan ng Iglesia Ni Cristo, sa pamumuno ni Ka Eduardo Manalo, sa peace rally na ito. Ako naman po ever since, even during the time of former President Duterte, I am for peace. Matagal po ako nagtrabaho sa kanya. Gusto ko po ng kapayapaan, peace on earth, peace in our country,” he stated during an interview at the rally.

The senator highlighted the need to work collectively and avoid wasting time on unnecessary discord. “Para makapagtrabaho na po tayo, bawat oras, bawat minuto na nasasayang po sa hindi pagkakaunawaan, ang nasasakripisyo po ang taong bayan. Parati kong sinasabi na ang serbisyo po sa tao ay serbisyo po ‘yan sa Diyos. Magkaisa tayo, trabaho na tayo para walang masayang na oras.”

When asked about the event's political implications, Senator Go emphasized that his focus is not on politics and he remains centered on serving the people, especially the poor.

Rigo Duterte celebrates Feast of Sto. Niño with Dabawenyos

DAVAO CITY – Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II celebrated the Feast of Sto. Niño with the residents from six barangays in the first district on Tuesday and Wednesday, highlighting community engagement and solidarity.

Standing in for his father, Davao City’s first district Rep. Paolo Duterte, Rigo surprised the residents of barangays 15-B, Bago Aplaya, 2-A, 21-C, 27-C, and 32-D and facilitated a raffle of various items, including food packs.

Rigo also distributed snacks such as stir-fried noodles and ice cream to adults and children. He thanked each barangay official and all the residents in the area, respectively, for their endless support of the Duterte family.

Senator Christopher “B**g” Go attended the ceremonial turnover of ambulances for Mati City and the municipalities of Baganga, Boston, Caraga, Cateel, Manay, Tarragona, Lupon, and San Isidro on Monday, December 23, marking a significant stride toward improving healthcare accessibility in Davao Oriental.

The initiative is part of the senator’s commitment to enhancing public health services, particularly in underserved areas. The turnover was held in SP Compound covered court, Barangay Dahican, Mati City.

As Chairperson of the Senate Health Committee and vice chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Go played a pivotal role in advocating for funding for the project, ensuring that residents of these areas would have better access to emergency healthcare services.

The provision of ambulances underscores the government’s efforts to address the healthcare needs of Filipinos, especially in the grassroots.

B**g Go brings New Year cheer to families at SPMC Bahay Pahulayan in Davao City with gifts through his compassionate outreach

On New Year’s Eve, December 31, Senator Christopher "B**g" Go, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and a staunch advocate of health reforms, continued his annual tradition of visiting the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) Bahay Pahulayan.

During his visit, Senator Go not only distributed gifts but also delivered a heartfelt message of hope and compassion to patient watchers staying at the facility.

“Ang bisyo ko talaga ay magserbisyo, lalo na para sa ating mga nangangailangan,” the senator shared during the event. “Kaya taun-taon, ginagawa ko ang lahat ng makakaya ko para maipakita ang malasakit sa mga kapwa nating Pilipino.”

The Bahay Pahulayan, a haven for patient watchers who often come from distant provinces, was bustling with families and hospital staff who received holiday gift packs, meals, and practical tokens such as calendars and keychains. To encourage recreation and camaraderie, Senator Go also donated basketballs and volleyballs to the facility.

Senator Go emphasized the importance of supporting not just the patients but also the families who accompany them. "Hindi lang ito tungkol sa gamot o operasyon—mahalaga din ang pagdamay sa mga bantay ng pasyente dahil sila ang nagbibigay ng lakas at suporta sa mga nagpapagaling," he said.

This year, about 100 individuals—comprising families housed in Bahay Pahulayan 1 and 2, as well as facility staff—benefited from Go’s outreach. Acknowledging their sacrifices, the senator personally distributed meals, fare, and Christmas gift packs while sharing words of encouragement.

“Hindi ko man maibigay ang lahat, sisiguraduhin kong maipadama sa inyo ang aking suporta, malasakit at serbisyo sa ganitong mga pagkakataon sa abot ng aking makakaya,” Go added.

The senator also took the opportunity to thank those who work tirelessly behind the scenes at Bahay Pahulayan, including House Supervising Steward Dawn Banzon and staff member George Lomantas. Their dedication ensures the facility remains a safe and welcoming space for families during difficult times.

“Alam kong mahirap ang trabaho ninyo, pero dahil sa inyong malasakit, mas nagiging madali ang pag-aalaga sa mga bantay ng pasyente,” Senator Go said, expressing his gratitude to the team.

As part of his health reforms crusade, Senator Go has consistently advocated for improved healthcare access across the country. Programs like the Malasakit Centers, which he principally authored and sponsored through Republic Act No. 11463 (Malasakit Centers Act of 2019), continue to serve millions of Filipinos seeking medical assistance.

“Ang Malasakit Center ay ginawa para walang Pilipinong mapabayaan pagdating sa serbisyong medikal,” he noted. The facility at SPMC remains a flagship example of how the program alleviates the financial burden on Filipino families.

Malasakit Centers are one-stop shops aiming to support impoverished patients in reducing their hospital costs to the least possible amount. As of now, 166 Malasakit Centers are operational across the country, poised to assist with patients' medical expenses. The DOH reports that the Malasakit Center program has already provided aid to more than 15 million Filipinos.

Go reaffirmed his commitment to pushing for further advancements in healthcare. “Ang pangarap ko ay isang bansa kung saan bawat Pilipino may access sa serbisyong medikal na abot-kamay at abot-kaya,” he concluded.

The annual visit to Bahay Pahulayan has become a testament to Senator B**g Go’s enduring connection to his constituents. As the New Year begins, his message resonates strongly: a reminder that even in the face of adversity, compassion and solidarity can make all the difference.

Statement of Congressman Paolo Z. Duterte

I welcome any investigation to be conducted by an impartial and credible body, as I have nothing to hide.

I remain committed to clearing our name and confident that the truth will expose the baseless nature of these accusations.

However, I must stress that any call for investigation must be based on credible evidence, not on pure hearsay testimony from convicted felon like Jimmy Guban.

These testimonies, obtained under the guise of a witness protection program in exchange for furloughs, lack credibility and only undermine the integrity of any legitimate inquiry.

If Congress is truly serious about addressing the proliferation of illegal drugs, they must begin by investigating those listed in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) watchlist during the Duterte administration.

This includes scrutinizing their own members, especially those whose family members have been implicated in drug activities.

Selective justice and political grandstanding have no place in this fight.

To clear my name, I have already filed several perjury charges against convicted felon Jimmy Guban.

This is just the first step in ensuring accountability for those who spread falsehoods and attempt to tarnish reputations with fabricated stories.

I call on the House Quadruple Committee to pursue genuine and unbiased investigations. The nation deserves nothing less than the truth and a sincere commitment to the fight against illegal drugs.

Let us not be distracted by politically motivated accusations or unreliable testimonies.

Let the facts speak, and let justice prevail.

STATEMENT OF SEN. B**G GO:

To clarify, hindi pa ako pumipirma sa Bicameral Conference Committee report on the disagreeing votes on the proposed 2025 budget.

Similar to the position of Sen. Bato dela Rosa, nais naming busisiin muna ang mga detalye nito bago pirmahan. Hindi ko pa nababasa ang kabuuan ng report na ito na ipinakita lamang sa amin kaninang umaga.

I am currently still reviewing the Bicam Report and so far, I found a few provisions that I have strong reservations on, particularly on the reported removal of the proposed budget for PhilHealth. I will manifest my own findings later during its ratification in the Senate plenary.

Bilang Vice Chair ng Senate Committee on Finance at Chair ng Senate Committee on Health, nais ko munang siguraduhin na bawat piso ng bayan ay magagamit nang tama at ang mga programa para sa kalusugan ay sapat na mapopondohan.

Marami po ang naghihirap at marami ang nagugutom. Hindi tayo papayag na maisantabi lamang ang ating mga adhikain na ipinaglalaban para maproteksyunan ang kalusugan at buhay ng bawat Pilipino.
