Imagine you're standing in the valley where David faced Goliath.

It's quiet except for the water. A shepherd boy kneels at the brook, his hand moving under the surface, feeling for the right stone. He's in no hurry. Behind him, an army holds its breath. Up on the ridge, Saul watches from the fortress of Sha'araim. A giant in bronze is still laughing at the boy they sent to fight him (1 Samuel 17).

The bottom image is what this valley looks like today. The stream has dried. Sha'araim lies in ruins. But as you stand in this place, you can still feel the presence of God, as powerful as it was at the time of David.

If you could kneel at that brook tomorrow and lift one of those stones, what would be running through your mind as you looked up at the giant?

While many major Christian denominations in the United States continue to experience declining membership, Pentecostal and charismatic churches are growing and attracting new generations of believers. Supporters point to several key factors, including powerful worship, belief in miracles, fervent prayer, evangelism, deliverance ministry, and a strong emphasis on the Holy Spirit.

The movement also appeals to young people seeking authentic spiritual experiences and a faith that engages both Scripture and the supernatural. From unity across cultures to outreach among the poor, Pentecostal churches are offering a vibrant expression of Christianity that continues to expand. Could these factors hold important lessons for churches facing decline?

God Provides. Trust Him Fully.

In a world that often measures security by what we possess, God reminds us that true provision comes not from our own strength, resources, or abilities, but from His faithful and loving hand. The message, ā€œGod Provides. Trust Him Fully.ā€ is a powerful invitation to surrender our worries, fears, and uncertainties to the One who knows our needs before we even ask.

The Scripture from 1 Peter 5:7 says, ā€œCast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.ā€ This verse is a beautiful reminder that God is not distant from our struggles. He sees every challenge, hears every prayer, and understands every burden we carry. His care for us is personal, constant, and unconditional. When life feels overwhelming and the future seems uncertain, God calls us to place our trust in Him rather than in our circumstances.

The image of bread and fish reminds us of God's miraculous provision throughout history. Just as He provided for the hungry crowd through a miracle, He continues to provide for His children today. His provision may not always come in the way we expect, but it always comes according to His perfect wisdom, timing, and purpose. Sometimes He provides strength when we feel weak, peace when we are anxious, opportunities when doors seem closed, and hope when everything appears lost.

The statement, ā€œWhen God is your source, you will never run out,ā€ speaks of a deeper truth than material abundance. When God is our source, we have access to an endless supply of grace, mercy, wisdom, love, forgiveness, and spiritual strength. Human resources may fail, but God's resources are limitless. People may disappoint us, but God remains faithful. Situations may change, but His promises endure forever.

Trusting God fully does not mean we will never face difficulties. Rather, it means believing that He is working through every situation for our good and His glory. It means choosing faith over fear, confidence over doubt, and obedience over uncertainty. Every challenge becomes an opportunity to witness God's faithfulness in a greater way.

Today, whatever burden you are carrying, place it in God's hands. Trust Him with your dreams, your family, your finances, your health, and your future. He is the God who provides, sustains, and never abandons His children. His love never fails, His promises never expire, and His provision never runs dry. Keep your eyes on Him, remain faithful in prayer, and walk forward with confidence, knowing that the God who cared for you yesterday is the same God who will provide for you tomorrow.

God is not limited by what is in your hand; He is able to multiply what you surrender to Him. Trust Him fully, and watch His faithfulness unfold in ways beyond your imagination.

Did you know Jacob was buried with Leah, not Rachel?

Not the woman he loved.

Not the one he cried for.

Not the one he labored fourteen years to have.

Leah.

In Genesis 49:29–31, when Jacob was about to die, he gave a clear instruction:

ā€œBury me… in the cave… where Abraham and Sarah are… Isaac and Rebekah… and there I buried Leah.ā€

Pause.

Rachel was his passion.

Leah was his alignment.

Rachel was the love story.

Leah was the covenant story.

Rachel had his emotions.

Leah carried the promise.

Rachel was buried on the roadside (Genesis 35:19).

Leah was laid in the ancestral grave of covenant—the lineage of God’s dealings.

And here is the mystery:

Leah was the rejected one.

The one Jacob didn’t choose.

The one he endured, not desired.

But heaven chose her.

From Leah came Judah.

From Judah came Jesus Christ.

Let that settle in your spirit—

The woman rejected by a man

became central to God’s redemptive plan.

This is where many people miss it:

We are all trying to be ā€œRachelā€ā€”

seen, desired, celebrated.

But God builds legacy through ā€œLeah seasonsā€ā€”

hidden places, painful processes, quiet obedience.

Jacob’s final decision was not emotional—

it was spiritual alignment.

At the end of his life,

he didn’t choose love…

he chose covenant.

And that is the gospel pattern:

God does not build His purposes on human preference.

He builds on grace and election.

So if you feel overlooked…

if you feel like second choice…

if life has not chosen you first—

hear this clearly:

God’s choice overrides man’s rejection.

You may not be preferred by people,

but you can be positioned by God.

And when God positions a man,

history is rewritten.

Because in God’s hands,

the rejected become vessels,

the unseen become pillars,

and the overlooked become eternal significance.

If you are in your Leah season—

you are not losing.

You are being written into something bigger.

One thing people do not talk about enough is how intentional God’s timing really is.

We sit here trying to measure life by what feels fair to us. We look around wondering why some people seem to step into certain blessings without effort while others pray, wait, ache, and wrestle for years. From a human perspective, it can look random. Uneven. Even cruel at times.

But Scripture shows over and over that God does not move randomly. He moves intentionally.

Look at Mary and Elizabeth.

Mary was young. Very young. She was not expecting to carry a child yet. She was not sitting there trying to become a mother in that moment. Yet God chose her specifically to carry Jesus into the world.

Then right beside that story, you have Elizabeth.
Elizabeth had already lived through the years where most women would have stopped hoping. She had carried the ache of barrenness for a long time. People in those days viewed infertility with shame, disappointment, and confusion. She had likely cried tears nobody saw and prayed prayers that felt unanswered for years and years.

And then suddenly when she was old and it looked impossible…God opened her womb.

Because the timing mattered.

John the Baptist could not come decades before Jesus. He could not come years afterward either. He had to arrive at the exact appointed time because his whole calling was to prepare the way for Christ.

Mary was young. Elizabeth was old. One pregnancy looked unexpected. The other looked impossible. Yet both were perfectly timed by God for something far bigger than either woman could fully see in the moment.

John had to grow up close enough in age to Jesus to recognize Him, preach repentance before Him, prepare hearts for Him, and point people toward Him when the time came. If Elizabeth would have had John earlier in life like everybody expected, the timing would have been off. If Mary would have carried Jesus at another point in history, the timing would have been off. Everything lined up exactly how Heaven intended it to.

God is not only concerned with the birth itself. He sees the generations, the timing, the people, and the purpose connected to it. He sees the ripple effects that stretch farther than human eyes can see.

We see waiting. God sees positioning. We see delays. God sees divine timing. We see impossibilities. God sees pieces lining up for a plan that stretches far beyond one single moment.

That story alone proves that God does not forget people in their waiting seasons. Elizabeth probably thought her opportunity had passed. Mary probably thought she was unqualified. Yet both women ended up carrying part of one of the greatest moments in human history.

Because when God decides the timing is right, He can use the young, the old, the unexpected, and the impossible all at once to accomplish exactly what He spoke from the beginning.
