ABANDONING SOMETHING FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH
In the name of Allah.
There is no one who leaves something for the sake of Allah Almighty except that Allah replaces it with something better than what was left behind.
The Messenger of Allah – peace and blessings be upon him – said:
"Indeed, you will not leave something for the sake of Allah Almighty except that Allah will replace it with something better for you."
[Reported by Ahmad]
Like the Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon), peace be upon him. He abandoned things he loved for the sake of Allah, so much so that he delayed the Asr (afternoon) prayer because he got busy with his horses. Then he turned back to Allah, seeking His pleasure. Allah replaced what he gave up with something far better, and he was granted a kingdom that was unmatched.
Likewise, the Companions migrated from Makkah to Madinah, leaving their wealth and homes behind for the sake of upholding the religion of Islam. Allah replaced what they left behind, and eventually, they became rulers of vast lands in the world. They conquered the Roman and Persian Empires.
And Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), peace be upon him. He was tempted by the king’s wife and the women around her, but he resisted their advances for the sake of Allah, choosing imprisonment over sin. Allah replaced his sacrifice by granting him a high status and made him a ruler over the lands.
Whatever you give up for the sake of Allah, Allah will surely replace it with something better for you.
What is forbidden is replaced with what is lawful.
What is lacking is replaced with sufficiency.
If you give up something, do so for the sake of Allah. Be pleased with Him. His reward is more lasting and better for you than anything you might desire. Remain steadfast on what Allah has commanded and leave behind what your desires call you to.
If we follow Allah’s path, we will surely be guided and protected.
