A Mother’s Heart
Every morning before sunrise, Maria quietly prepared breakfast while her son, Eli, still slept. She always made his favorite—fried rice with egg—just the way he liked it. She never complained, even though her hands ached from years of hard work at the market.
Eli was growing up fast. He often came home late, busy with friends, sometimes forgetting to say “thank you” or even “good night.” But Maria understood. She’d smile, saying softly to herself, “He’s learning to find his way.”
One evening, after a long day, Eli came home and saw his mother asleep at the table, her hands still holding his school uniform she had just finished sewing. He noticed how tired she looked—the wrinkles around her eyes, the gray in her hair—and something inside him stirred.
He placed a blanket over her shoulders and whispered, “Thank you, Ma.”
Maria opened her eyes and smiled weakly. “As long as you’re okay, anak, I’m happy.”
At that moment, Eli finally understood that a mother’s love never asks for anything in return—it simply gives, quietly and endlessly.
Moral: A mother’s love is silent, strong, and forever—seen not in her words, but in her sacrifices. ❤️
