The Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. (JMCFI) continues to advance its commitment to academic collaboration and research innovation as it formally sealed partnerships with Kapalong College of Agricuture, Sciences, and Technology (KCAST) and Central Mindanao Colleges (CMC) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony, held on October 27, 2025, at the JMCFI Lobby. The event also marked the institution’s 1st Faculty Research Lecture, highlighting JMCFI’s growing emphasis on faculty development and scholarly engagement.
JMCFI School President Dr. Jose Ma. S.E. Gonzales welcomed the administrators, faculty members, and research representatives from the partner institutions, underscoring the importance of shared academic pursuits and community-centered education.
The signing was joined by institutional presidents from KCAST and CMC, who both delivered messages of partnership and solidarity, affirming their intent to collaborate in joint research projects, faculty training programs, and lecture exchanges. The ceremony culminated with the exchange of documents and tokens, followed by a photo opportunity and coffee break that allowed representatives to network and engage in dialogue about future initiatives.
Following the signing, JMCFI hosted its 1st Faculty Research Lecture Series, a pioneering platform for faculty researchers to present their scholarly work to the academic community.
The first presentation, titled “Concepts of Children in Conflict with the Law About Peace and Peace-Making,” was delivered by Dr. Eulalia M. Casili, together with Mr. Rex Anthony D. Obias and Mr. Rondet D.R. Roncesvalles from the College of Arts and Sciences. The study explored how restorative justice and peace education can intersect to promote reintegration and social harmony.
The second lecture, “Assessment in the TPACK Domains of Teachers in a Selected Higher Education Institution,” was presented by Mr. Allan A. Magsipoc from the College of Teacher Education. His research focused on evaluating how teachers integrate technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge in modern classrooms.
Reactions and insights were shared during the Open Forum, moderated by Dr. Victoria O. Ligan, Dr. Ronel G. Dagohoy, and Mr. Fidel B. Ladra, emphasizing the relevance of both studies in contemporary educational practice.
Certificates of recognition were awarded to the lecturers, followed by a Networking Luncheon that allowed participants to strengthen institutional ties and explore avenues for academic collaboration.
In the afternoon, the event continued with a Benchmarking Forum and Roundtable Dialogue where participants exchanged best practices in research management and discussed implementation strategies for the newly signed MOUs. The session served as an open platform for sharing insights on how to sustain partnerships through continuous engagement, joint publications, and collaborative activities.
The Research, Development, and Publication Office (RDPO) synthesized the discussions, reaffirming JMCFI’s vision of becoming a center for research excellence and academic cooperation.
The MOU Signing and 1st Faculty Research Lecture not only strengthened JMCFI’s linkages but also underscored the institution’s growing role as a hub for intellectual exchange and transformative education in the region.
