The seminar-workshop was graced by award-winning theater production directorโMs. Leah Ornosโa graduate of the Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), who shared valuable insights drawn from professional practice and community-based theater work. The session created an immersive and dynamic learning space where participants explored how theater professionalsโ explicit knowledge can be integrated into the actual practice of theatrical art.
Through discussions, creative exercises, and collaborative activities, students examined the intersection of data, lived experiences, and performanceโturning insights and community stories into meaningful dramatic expressions.
One of the highlights of the event was the live musical performance โTindahan ni Aling Nena,โ performed by the talented 3rd Year Bachelor of Arts in Communication students. The piece embodied the spirit of Kalye Teatro by reflecting everyday realities and engaging the audience through music, movement, and storytelling.
From Data to Drama stood as a celebration of creativity, culture, and collective storytelling, demonstrating how theater can amplify voices, reflect social realities, and bring data to life through performance art. ๐ญโจ
