The silence screams, a hollow sound,
Where laughter once did freely abound.
Two souls entwined, yet miles apart,
Each beating heart, a lonely art.

The years have etched a weary line,
Upon the face, the soul, the mind.
Promises whispered, now a ghost,
Of dreams once dreamt, at any cost.

A tapestry of broken threads,
Of battles fought, and unspoken dreads.
Each day a dance, a careful tread,
Around the shards of what is dead.

But still we stay, in this cold embrace,
Bound by duty, fear, or time and space.
The embers glow, but flickers faint,
A lingering hope, that love might paint

A new horizon, bright and clear,
Where hearts find solace, casting fear.
But for now, we endure the night,
Hoping for dawn, and a brighter light.

"At least the bills are paid" era.

The period of life where you're broke but not unemployed, you're working but not earning, and you're living from paycheck to paycheck.

Not all broke working adults are broke because of spending habits, some are broke because they're the breadwinners.

If you're in this era, keep taking comfort in the fact that the bills are paid. You, prioritizing your responsibilities (especially if they're not your obligations to begin with) won't go unnoticed.
