PHIVOLCS Issues Alert Level 1 Landslide Warning for Talaingod Community
TALAINGOD, Davao del Norte — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), through its Dynaslope Project, has issued an Alert Level 1 landslide warning for residents of Sitio Upper Mesolong, Barangay Sto. Niño, Talaingod, Davao del Norte, following a recent strong earthquake that may increase the risk of landslides in the area.
According to the Dynaslope Landslide Alert Level Information Bulletin (MSU-2026-196), the warning was released at 4:00 p.m. on June 8, 2026, and remains valid until 8:00 a.m. on June 9, 2026.
PHIVOLCS reported that the site is located approximately 186.75 kilometers from the epicenter of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck at 7:37 a.m. on June 8, 2026. The area falls within the earthquake’s critical radius of 207.06 kilometers, prompting authorities to raise the landslide alert level.
