Davao City: 3 Dates, 89 Years, and the Math of Conservation 🎂🦅📐

In this clip, our tour guide explains the "Calendar Math" behind our city, but let’s look at how the
celebration has evolved this 2026:

📜 October 16, 1936: President Quezon signed Commonwealth Act No. 51.
⚖️ March 1,
1937: The Official Effective Date & Inauguration. This is our "Birth Certificate" date!

March 16: The naandan (traditional) holiday date for many years.

The 2026 Formula: Efficiency + Legacy 📈 Today, March 28, marks the closing weekend of
our month-long celebration. But did you notice the change?

‍♂️ The Civic Parade: This morning's parade was simplified to a "Pure Walking" event. No
heavy floats or motorized convoys—a direct response to the oil crisis and the government’s call
for energy saving measures. It’s proof that we can honor our heritage while being responsible
with our resources.

🎂 The Finale: This afternoon, the city gathers for the 81st Birthday celebration of Former
President Rodrigo Road Duterte, Davao's , a leader who remains a central figure in our local history.

From legal documents in 1936 to energy-efficient parades in 2026, the "Math of Davao" is
always about adapting to the times.

100 Years in Plain Sight. 🏛️📐

Happy Araw Ng Dabaw! 🦅 I'm celebrating today by looking at our city through a different lens

During my Heritage Walk, I learned a "Math Secret" about our City Hall. While the facade looks like one big piece, the math tells a different story:

🏛️ 2 vs. 4: Only the two middle columns are the original 100-year old structures from 1926. The outer columns and wings were added later to balance the symmetry as the city grew!

It's a perfect example of how Davao keeps it's "Point Zero" (0,0) core while expanding into the metropolis we see today. 10 decades of history, and it all started with those two pillars

Who says math doesn't have a rhythm? 🥧🔥

Happy Pi Day, everyone! 3.14 may be a constant, but my love for logic is exponential. 📈

To celebrate today, I decided to do something a little different. I collaborated with AI to compose an original R&B track for the page! Just like a perfect equation, sometimes you have to mix human creativity with a little digital logic to get the perfect result. 🎧🤖

Whether you're celebrating with a slice or pie or a slice of pizza remember that math is the silent hero behind everything we love -- from the music we hear to the strategy of our daily lives.
