More people are having their spiritual awakening than ever before. Yet with all this enthusiasm, many do not have a clear picture of what the spiritual path actually looks like and what the steps are to reach their own soul’s potential. Lord, help me as I truly grow in my walk with you.

THE STAGES OF OUR CHRISTIAN LIFE

Christians are called to “grow up”; that is, we are to “grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ” (Eph. 4:15). Sometimes we have growth spurts, but growth tends to be slow and gradual. From day to day, I don’t notice my son growing. But every few months, I wonder, “How did you grow up so fast?” I’m already lamenting, “You’re not a baby anymore!” While there is not an exact point at which a child passes from infancy into youth or adulthood, growth is typically measured in stages. The same is true for spiritual growth.

Every Christian’s journey is unique. Yet certain stages of growth should be common to all of God’s children. By reflecting on these stages, you may recognize where God is currently working in your life. He is patient and faithful in His work of transformation. Surrender to the Holy Spirit today, asking Him to continue shaping you into the likeness of Jesus.

Have you faced any tests of obedience in your life? Pray for help to trust God, no matter what the outcome may be just like Abraham.

ABRAHAM'S SACRIFICE

Abraham faced one of the greatest tests of obedience recorded in Scripture: God asked him to sacrifice his son. It’s hard to imagine the confusion and pain this must have caused. However, Abraham set out to comply. His response teaches us some important lessons about trusting our heavenly Father.

We might wonder how Abraham could obey such a difficult command from God. Didn’t he question God’s promise that he would have many descendants through Isaac? Didn’t he see any contradiction between God’s promise and God’s command? Isaac was the only son he had and the only way for his family line to continue.

The Bible does not tell us what Abraham felt, but we can imagine that he had plenty of time to think during the two-day journey from his home to the mountain that God chose in Moriah. He could have used that time to discuss with Isaac and look for a better solution that would please God and protect his son. He could have decided to turn back from the mountain and go back to his wife Sarah. But instead, we see that both Abraham and Isaac trusted God and followed his command, without any hesitation or deviation.

It is going to be a fiery afternoon of wonderful and amazing virtuosic violin music...

TODAY'S FEATURED MUSIC INFLUENCER
Niccolò Paganini

Niccolò Paganini (27 October 1782 – 27 May 1840) was an Italian violinist and composer. He was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, and left his mark as one of the pillars of modern violin technique. His 24 Caprices for Solo Violin Op. 1 are among the best known of his compositions and have served as an inspiration for many prominent composers.

Niccolò Paganini defined the highest standards in the world of violin. His eccentric personality, his natural abilities to play the instruments, his tenacious practice to perfection, and the brilliancy of his compositions are the recipe of his greatness. Not by mistake, masters of the classical world, namely Schumann, Brahms, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff, based several compositions on Paganini’s melodies. Along with Paganini’s proficiency and effectiveness in performance, what made him special is the unique mix of his music’s design, creation, and innovation.

That's today from 2:00-3:30 p.m. with DJ Berny as we remember him on his 186th Death Anniversary by listening to highlights of some of his most famous and iconic compositions.

Colossians 2:7 states, "Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness."

Are you rooted?

HAVING DEEP ROOTS

For Christians, having deep roots means being firmly anchored in Christ. Like a tree deeply embedded in rich soil, it is a faith that withstands life's storms and continually draws spiritual nourishment, enabling believers to produce good character, love, and service.

Deeply rooted Christians typically share several core characteristics and practices: they are anchored in Scripture, they Regularly read and meditate on God's Word , they have a consistent prayer life. they maintain an active, ongoing conversation with God, they are resilient even in Trials, they trust in God's promises and sovereignty even when facing hardships or suffering, they bear Fruit by demonstrating the "fruit of the Spirit" (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) in their daily lives and they have Community and Fellowship by actively participating in a church or small group to learn, worship, and support others in the faith.

A hard heart is terrifying. But it is not inevitable.
Even we as Christians are prone to it.
Let us ask the Lord to give us a heart of flesh.

ANATOMY OF A HARDENING HEART

Many of us think that people with hard hearts were God-haters or, at the least, people in rebellion to Him. That’s what we used to think until the day the Lord revealed that we have a hard hearts.

Our hearts can gradually grow hardened toward God—one day and one choice at a time. Hebrews 3:7-8 (referencing Psalm 95:7-8) says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” After God delivered His people from Egypt, they “tested and tried [Him]” (v. 9) during their time in the wilderness.

Considering this, it’s easy to see how a hardened heart can dull a person’s ability to perceive and understand. Anyone’s heart can harden, even faithful Christians.

We can truly learn even in troubled waters. This is a well-known spiritual theme that focuses on navigating life's hardships and transforming them into profound learning opportunities. It emphasizes that developing a teachable and yielded heart during difficult seasons ultimately fosters deep spiritual growth.

LEARNING IN TROUBLED WATERS

God promises that when we face challenging times, He will be with us. He wants to be our teacher and guide, but we must position ourselves to respond to Him. We need to:

1. Have a longing to follow God’s way.
2. Be willing to be taught by the Lord.
3. Yield to His will.

Troubles are an unwelcome fact of life, but they can have value. God will see us through them all. He asks only that we have a tender heart, a teachable spirit, and a yielded will.

In Psalm 3:3, the psalmist wrote, "But You, O LORD, are a shield about me,
My glory, and the One who lifts my head."

These words here describe how the LORD will cover and protect His people. This imagery goes way back to the time of Abraham, who lived 1,000 years before David. He was facing some trouble of his own. "And the LORD said to him, 'Do not fear, Abram, I am a shield to you'" (Genesis 15:1). In other words, God is our protection. He is our safety.

THE ENEMY OF SECURITY

When we seek our security in God, the ultimate enemies that seek to undermine that peace are "the flesh" (our own sinful desires), "the world" (worldly distractions), and "the devil" (spiritual opposition). Together, these forces work to create doubt, fear, and anxiety in our daily lives.

Unconfessed sin also creates a barrier between the Lord and the believer, which can short-circuit faith and assurance. By failing to admit to sin, however, a Christian will feel distant from God. He or she may feel unworthy of the Father’s love and can even struggle with a sense of rejection. Some might even feel as if they are no longer saved.

Life is more interesting because of its inherent variability, the fresh opportunities to keep learning and growing. When viewed in this way, it is the unknown, the unpredictable and the unexpected events in our life that keep us moving and stop us from stagnating. That is what adversity does in us.

THE PURPOSE OF ADVERSITY

It is said that trials act as a purifying fire. Just as gold is refined by heat, adversity tests and strengthens faith, producing perseverance, steadfastness, and godly character.

When we’re walking through adversity, it’s easy to focus exclusively on the momentary trouble. God, however, has specific purposes for bringing us through times of hardship.

Adversity has a way of clarifying things. In difficult seasons, God refines our spiritual vision, and we begin to see sin’s destructiveness more clearly. The hardship that once felt purposeless becomes the very means by which He draws us closer to Himself, teaching us to cling to what is good and flee from what destroys.

Much-loved Soviet composer of Armenian background, who continued the vein of colourful Russian exoticism from 19th century composers like Borodin and Rimsky-Korsakov... His name is Aram Khachaturian...

Aram Khachaturian

Aram Ilyich Khachaturian (6 June 1903 – 1 May 1978) was a Soviet Armenian composer and conductor. He is considered one of the leading Soviet composers.

He composed the first Armenian ballet music, symphony, concerto, and film score. He is considered the most renowned Armenian composer of the 20th century. Persevering through adversity means overcoming challenges and difficulties with courage and resilience. It involves facing obstacles and hardships with a positive attitude, a growth mindset and total dependence on God.

ADVANCING THROUGH ADVERSITY

It is impossible to live in this world without facing moments of uncertainty, doubt, confusion, and fear. Scripture does not dismiss these concerns but instead helps us through them.

While God’s Word is truthful about the adversity we all face, it promises that we have a Guide who will never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5-6). God can use hardships as a tool to shape us into the people He wants us to be. You see, adversity is an opportunity for Him to purify our faith. So if you are going through a challenging time, pray for discernment and ask yourself, Is this something that God may be allowing in order to bring me closer to Him?
