PPP Medical Mission Visits Barangay 31-D; 146 Residents Benefit
DAVAO CITY β A total of 146 residents of Barangay 31-D benefited from a free medical mission conducted by Pulong-Pulong ni Pulong (PPP), the volunteer and community outreach arm associated with the office of Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte, on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
The medical mission, organized in coordination with barangay officials and with the support of Acting Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte II, brought essential healthcare services directly to the community. These included general medical consultations, blood pressure monitoring, eye checkups, and the distribution of free medicines.
The initiative aimed to assist residents with limited access to health facilities, particularly infants, senior citizens, and patients with chronic conditions.
Resident Dei Baguinda said the outreach was a big help to her family, especially to her two-month-old child.
βGidala nako akong two-month-old baby nga giubo ug sip-on. Maayo kaayo kay dili na nako kinahanglan moadto sa health center kay sila na mismo miduol sa amoa,β she said.
Another beneficiary, Carlo Mapula, expressed gratitude after receiving free medication for hypertension.
βNagpasalamat gyud ko sa opisina ni Cong. Pulong ug sa barangay kay nakalibre ko ug tambal para sa akong high blood,β Mapula said.
Senior citizen Emma Loreto, 64, also welcomed the program, calling it a big relief for elderly residents, while Alfredo Poligrino Jr., 54, noted that the doorstep medical services spared them the cost and effort of going to hospitals.
Aside from healthcare services, beneficiaries were also provided with hot porridge, mineral water, and packed lunches during the activity.
Barangay Captain Nathaniel Rapal thanked the organizers and underscored the importance of sustaining the program.
βDaghan kaayo taga-amua dinhi sa 31-D ang naghulat gyud ani nga regular nga programa. Salamat sa First Congressional District ug sa Pulong-Pulong ni Pulong medical mission,β Rapal said.
Organizers said the activity forms part of PPPβs continuing efforts to strengthen community-based health services and bring immediate medical assistance closer to residents at the grassroots level. Local leaders and beneficiaries expressed hope that similar medical missions will be conducted regularly in other barangays across the district.
