𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐒𝐉𝐏-𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞

The SJP-Saints Men's basketball team secured first place in the Pasalamat ni Kapitan Oting Davao Occidental Invitational Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament against the University of Mindanao, with a final score of 69-64 on December 20, 2023, at Brgy. Sta. Maria, Bansiawan.

Their journey in the tournament was marked by a dazzling display of skill and determination, culminating in a resounding victory that secured them the coveted first place. Despite facing formidable challenges, the team exhibited commendable skill and resilience, displayed sportsmanship, and, with the guidance of their coach, Coach Howard Delgado, left a lasting impression in the realm of competitive basketball.

While narrowly missing the overall victory, their enduring commitment and noteworthy performance serve as a testament to their contribution to the rich tapestry of sporting excellence in the Pasalamat ni Kapitan Oting Davao Occidental Invitational Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament.

The SJP-Saints basketball team has successfully reached the finals of the Davao Occidental Invitational Inter-Collegiate League. Their upcoming clash in the championship match will be against the University of Mindanao at Sta. Maria, Basiawan later this evening, December 20, 2023.

St. John Paul II College of Davao secured their place in the finals by triumphing over MAPUA with an impressive winning score of 94-82. This victory has earned them the coveted opportunity to compete for the championship title against the formidable University of Mindanao.

As they prepare for this crucial encounter, the anticipation for an exhilarating match is high. The final outcome remains uncertain, but the SJP-Saints have already showcased their skill and resilience, making them a team to watch in this thrilling competition.

𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | "𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝: 𝐒𝐉𝐏-𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞!"

BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS as SJP-Saints of St. John Paul II College of Davao triumphed in the inaugural intercollegiate basketball tournament at Barangay Elizalde, Maco Davao de Oro, on December 9 and 10, 2023.

The SJP-Saints displayed remarkable skill and determination securing victories in the semi-finals scored 94-91 against DMMA on December 9, and the final game scored 93-86 against LPU on December 10. Facing challenges against DMMA and LPU, the SJP Saints orchestrated a comeback, trailing by 7 points in the final game led by the 𝐌𝐕𝐏 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬. Each player's resilience and effort, amplified by the outstanding performance of Audy Casayas and the guidance of their coach, Howard Delgado, turned the tide, transforming adversity into a victory.

Beyond the scoreboard, this achievement resonates with the fundamental values of teamwork, dedication, and an unrelenting pursuit of success. The SJP Saints' triumph not only secures a prestigious title but also crafts a narrative of fortitude and excellence within St. John Paul II College of Davao, forever echoing in the hallowed corridors for years to come.

𝐒𝐉𝐏𝐈𝐈𝐂𝐃 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | St. John Paul II College of Davao has achieved a remarkable performance in the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT) held in September 2023. First-time takers in the Elementary category secured an impressive 87.1%, surpassing the national passing rate of 47.01%. In the Secondary category, first-time takers achieved a commendable 75%, outperforming the national passing rate of 56.26%.

Congratulations, JPCeans! Your outstanding performance not only demonstrates individual excellence but also reflects the dedication to academic rigor at St. John Paul II College of Davao. Keep shining bright as you contribute to the future of education!

𝐒𝐉𝐏𝐈𝐈𝐂𝐃 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | Important notice for final examinations

In preparation for the impending Final Examinations of the first semester for the academic year 2023-2024, scheduled from December 11 to December 17, 2023, a crucial update has been issued for the students at our institution.

Instead of the traditional Final Exam permit, students are instructed to present their Official Receipt (OR) to their respective examination proctors as proof of eligibility to take the exam. It is important to note that clearance will be mandatory for enrollment in the second semester.

Moreover, effective from December 5, 2023, until December 10, 2023, only students with financial transactions at the cashier will be permitted entry to the campus. This exclusivity aims to streamline the examination process and ensure a focused and secure testing environment.

To facilitate this process, students are encouraged to utilize the week of examinations, from December 11 to December 17, 2023, to address any outstanding obligations at the different offices contributing to the clearance procedure.

This announcement serves as a reminder to all students to stay informed and compliant with these adjustments. Your cooperation during this period is crucial for the smooth facilitation of the final examination process and subsequent enrollment procedures.

Due to the consequent aftershocks brought by the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, the learning interaction for the next three days, December 5, 6, and 7, 2023, shall be done via online class.

The objective for the cancellation of face-to-face interaction is to ensure the safety of the faculty, staff, and students. May this be a reminder that your welfare comes above all. The continuation of face-to-face classes shall commence on December 9, 2023.

𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | SJP-SAINTS Men's Basketball Varsity subdues RMC and ADDU's Basketball Teams at the MAWAB Invitational Inter-Collegiate Basketball League at Barangay Elizalde

Stealing the ball, SJP-SAINTS Men's Basketball Varsity triumphed against RMC with a winning score of 94-87 and secured another victory against Ateneo with a score of 80-70 during the MAWAB Invitational Inter-Collegiate Basketball League held from December 2-3, 2023.

The St. John Paul II College of Davao Basketball Varsity demonstrated their harmony and teamwork as they won the first game against Rizal Memorial Colleges, Inc. on December 2, 2023, with a 7-point lead. Furthermore, on December 3, in their second game, they secured another victory against Ateneo De Davao University with a 10-point lead, earning them the number one spot in their bracket.

The SJP-SAINTS Basketball Team's recent triumphs not only highlight their athletic prowess but also underscore the importance of teamwork and strategic play in achieving success on the court. As they bask in the glory of their victories, the team sets a high standard for excellence in the realm of collegiate basketball, leaving fans eager to witness their future endeavors on the court.

𝐒𝐉𝐏𝐈𝐈𝐂𝐃 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘 | In light of the sequential aftershocks caused by the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, all face-to-face classes scheduled for December 4, 2023 will be held online through Google Meeting.

The primary purpose of the cancellation of face-to-face classes is to safeguard our employees and students on the safety and security measures of our school buildings and environment. Once the structural inspection is done and found that the building and environment are safe and sound for occupancy, the resumption of face-to-face classes shall take effect on December 05, 2023.
