For the People, Not for Power.
Today, we are reminded to remember that our role as citizens and students goes beyond the classroom—it is about being aware, being active, and being brave enough to speak up for what is right.
Corruption in public office is not just about stolen money—it is stolen lives, stolen futures. Funds that should have built strong roads, safe flood controls, free hospitals, good schools, and homes for the poor are instead taken by those who promised to serve. While some officials enjoy luxury, families are left without shelter after every storm, children go hungry, and patients die without proper care.
“Man is a political animal,” Aristotle once said. Isn't it sickening how the people in government are so greedy for power and gluttonous for money? Even though it isn’t their money, it’s their pockets that are full and their stomachs that are never hungry, while we, the people, are left drowning because of their selfishness. The worst part is that we don’t get justice; instead, we are fed fake promises and propaganda designed to protect their names. These leaders are not for the people they run for their own sake, leaving the Filipino people at stake.
As students and citizens, we cannot close our eyes. To stay silent is to let injustice continue. We must speak up, ask for honesty, and call for responsibility. Public service is not a business—it is a sacred duty. And until corruption is broken down, our nation will never move forward. Let us all unite. Colors are meaningless, but being Filipino is what truly matters. Money cannot buy justice it will only lead to oppression and this flourishing corruption.
Do not silence the Filipino people, let us raise our voice to claim what is rightfully ours. This fight against corruption is not just about good governance, it's self defense and patriotism.
Wake up, Philippines. Fight back, Filipinos!
