Senator Imee Marcos filed Senate Bill No. 557, the “President Rodrigo R. Duterte Act,” banning arrests or transfers of individuals in the Philippines to foreign entities without a warrant from a Philippine court.

The bill responds to Duterte’s March 11 ICC arrest, calling it “extraordinary rendition.” It bars:

• Arrests or transfers without court order or consent
• Foreign probes without DOJ/DILG permit
• Entry of foreign agents for unauthorized arrests

Violators face up to 20 years in prison and ₱10M fines. The bill also freezes assets and mandates DFA repatriation efforts.

Marcos Launches 50% Train Fare Discount for Seniors and PWDs

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the launch of a new 50% fare discount for senior citizens and persons with disabilities across MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2, held at Santolan-Annapolis Station in Quezon City.

The initiative doubles the previous 20% statutory discount and follows a similar fare cut for students rolled out last June. The move fulfills the President’s directive to ease commuting costs for vulnerable groups.

📰 Tulfo Opposes Dismissal of VP Sara Duterte’s Impeachment Case

Manila – July 15, 2025
Senator Raffy Tulfo said he will vote against dismissing Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment case, insisting the trial must proceed so she can prove her innocence.

“The trial should push through,” Tulfo said. “Let her defend herself.”

He rejected claims of jurisdictional issues, saying the Senate already holds authority. The case, backed by over 200 lawmakers, was returned to the House for certification but awaits action from the 20th Congress.

Tulfo’s stance opposes Senator Bato Dela Rosa’s earlier motion to dismiss.
