The Old Man’s Three Questions
A young man once asked a wise old man three important questions:

What is the best time to do anything?
Who is the most important person?
What is the most important thing to do?

The old man didn’t answer right away. Instead, he invited the young man to help him in his garden. While they worked, a wounded stranger came running. They helped and cared for him.

Later, the old man said:

The best time is now, because it’s the only time we have.
The most important person is the one you are with right now.
The most important thing is to do good for others.

The Group of Frogs

A group of frogs decided to race to the top of a tall tower. As they began the climb, a crowd gathered to watch. But instead of cheering, the onlookers shouted things like:

“It’s too hard!”
“You’ll never make it!”
“The tower’s too high!”

One by one, the frogs began to lose hope and dropped out.
But one little frog kept going—higher and higher—until finally, he reached the top!
Everyone was amazed.

When they asked him how he did it, they discovered something surprising:
He was deaf.

Moral of the Story:
Sometimes, the best thing you can do is not listen to negativity.
Ignore discouragement and keep pushing forward, especially when you believe in yourself.

The Cracked Pot

A water bearer had two large pots. Each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his shoulders. One of the pots was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. The other pot had a crack in it. By the time the water bearer reached his master’s house, the cracked pot had leaked out half its water.

For two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the cracked pot was ashamed of its imperfection and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do.

One day by the stream, the cracked pot spoke to the water bearer:
"I am ashamed of myself. I leak and lose half of the water you work so hard to carry.”

The water bearer smiled and said:
"Did you notice there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side? That’s because I knew about your crack, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path. Every day as we walk back, you water them."

"For two years, I’ve been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my master’s table. Without your crack, this beauty wouldn’t exist."

Moral of the Story:
We all have our own unique flaws. But those imperfections can lead to unexpected beauty and purpose.
Embrace your cracks. They might be watering someone’s flowers. 🌸

“The Coffee and the Cup”

At a college reunion, a group of successful alumni—now doctors, lawyers, business owners—decided to visit their old professor. They chatted about their careers and families, but soon the conversation shifted to life’s pressures, stress, and constant chasing after more.
After listening for a while, the professor smiled and said, “Hold on a minute. I’ll go make us some coffee.”

He came back with a large pot and a tray full of cups—none of them matching. Some were fine porcelain, others were plain ceramic, a few were chipped glass mugs, and one even looked like it came from a diner.

As everyone reached for a cup, the professor watched in silence. Once they all had coffee in hand, he said:
“Notice what just happened. Most of you instinctively reached for the nicest cups—leaving behind the simpler ones. It’s normal to want the best for ourselves, but that’s often where the stress begins.”

He gestured toward the cups.
“The cup doesn’t make the coffee taste any better. What you really wanted was the coffee. But you still focused on the cup.”
Then he paused.
“Life is the coffee. Your job, your house, your income, your status—those are just cups. They help contain life, but they don’t define it. And the trouble is, the more we focus on the cup, the more we miss out on the coffee.”

He smiled.
“Remember, happy people don’t always have the best of everything. But they know how to make the best of what they have.”

“The Fence and the Nails”

A boy with a bad temper was always angry, yelling at others and saying hurtful things. One day, his father gave him a bag of nails and said, “Each time you lose your temper, hammer a nail into the fence.”

On the first day, the boy hammered 37 nails. Over time, as he learned to control his anger, the number decreased. Eventually, he stopped hammering nails altogether.

His father then said, “Now, for every day you stay calm, pull out one nail.”

Days passed, and the boy finally removed all the nails. Proudly, he told his father.

The father led him to the fence and said, “You’ve done well, but look at the holes. The fence will never be the same. Words and anger leave scars. Even if you say sorry, the mark remains.”

Lesson:
Harsh words and anger can hurt deeply. Think before you speak—because even when forgiven, the damage may remain.
