Looking back on my last day at work… 🥹❤️
🏥👩‍⚕️
It was more than just a workplace—it was where I grew, struggled, learned, and became the nurse and leader I am today.
From being a staff nurse to taking on leadership roles, SICU taught me how to stay calm in chaos, make tough decisions, advocate for my patients and co workers, and lead with heart.
Daghan kaayog memories—kapoy, pressure, laughter, tears, and countless “Kaya ra ni!” moments. 😂
SICU helped build me—not just as a nurse, but as a leader and as a person.
Forever grateful for the people, the lessons, and the memories. ❤️

🩺✈️🇺🇸 LOOKING BACK: MY AVANT TRANSITION PROGRAM JOURNEY 🇺🇸✨

My Avant journey started in Florida—from training and transition, all the way to my deployment in San Angelo, Texas. 🇵🇭➡️🇺🇸

It wasn't just about learning how to work as a nurse in the US.

It was also learning how to start a whole new life in a new country. 🥹

🩺 TRAINING
Learning the US healthcare system, policies, documentation, workflow, and getting used to doing things differently.

🚗 DEPLOYMENT PREPARATION
Then came the exciting—and slightly scary—part: preparing to leave Florida and move to Texas!

🏡 APARTMENT TRANSFER
Packing, moving, figuring out where we're going to live… and asking a million questions along the way. 😂

🛒 FIRST GROCERY RUN
Because after moving, the next question is always:

“Asa ta makapalit ug grocery?” 😂😂

🚗 CAR PURCHASE
And of course, learning how to buy my first car in America! From financing, insurance, dealership, paperwork… murag nursing care plan ang kadaghan sa requirements! 🤣

One thing I will always appreciate during this journey is having a travel specialist who guided me along the way. ❤️

From my transition program and deployment to helping me navigate the move, apartment transfer, car purchase, and even those little things like where to grocery shop—having someone to guide you makes such a huge difference when you're a new immigrant nurse trying to figure everything out.

🛒💵 LOOKING BACK: MY FIRST PAYCHECK = GROCERY DAY! 🇺🇸❤️

Pag-abot sa akong first paycheck diri sa 🇺🇸 , unsa man dayon akong gibuhat? 😅

👉 GROCERY! 🛒😂

Abi nako’g happy na kay nakadawat na ug first US paycheck… pero pag-abot sa grocery, mag-convert pa gyud ko sa peso! 🤣🤣

“$5 ra ni… pila na kaha ni sa peso?”
“$20 ra ni… hala, ₱1,100+ na diay!” 😭😂

Mao nang ang cart, kuha–tan-aw presyo–convert sa peso–ibalik–kuha balik. 🤣🤣

Pero bisag mag-compute pa ko sa peso, happy gihapon ang heart. 🥹❤️

Kay kani nga grocery cart represents more than just food—it’s a reminder nga nakalabang ko, nakapangitag trabaho, nakadawat sa akong first US paycheck, ug nakasuporta na ko sa akong pamilya. 🇺🇸🙏❤️

From “Lord, tabangi ko makalabang” to “Lord, tabangi ko sa grocery bill!” 😂😂

Small milestone, but a BIG blessing. 🙏✨

Looking back now, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come. From discovering nearby streets and places to slowly making this unfamiliar neighborhood feel like home. 🥰
