COAST GUARD RECOVERS SUSPECTED ROCKET DEBRIS NEAR CUYO, PALAWAN

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) recovered suspected rocket debris off the waters of Brgy. Funda, Bisucay Island, Cuyo, Palawan, after a fisherman reported the discovery on Thursday.

Authorities believe the object may be part of China’s Long March rocket launched on September 16, 2025. The material is now in Coast Guard custody and will be turned over to the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) for verification and hazard analysis.

The PCG warned residents and mariners not to touch or approach similar debris, citing possible hazardous substances. Commander Weniel Azcuna urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report unusual objects at sea or along shorelines.

DUTERTE FAMILY RAISES HUMANITARIAN CONCERNS OVER ICC DETENTION

The family of Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte raised alarm over his continued detention, citing serious humanitarian concerns about his health and safety under the International Criminal Court (ICC).

They said the government’s admission of a secret “welfare check” confirms abuse of power and intrusion on Duterte’s compromised condition. Hospital sources allegedly revealed he was found unconscious and subjected to tests without his family’s knowledge.

The family also criticized the ICC’s failure to provide even basic medical attention, such as immediate care for a minor ailment, and its refusal to allow a 24-hour caregiver. They argued that detaining an elderly and frail man without conviction amounts to inhumane punishment.

They stressed that Duterte poses no flight risk, has not threatened complainants, and no longer seeks public office, asserting that his detention only serves to inflict suffering.

The family urged the ICC to act swiftly, uphold humanitarian standards, and ensure Duterte receives proper medical care and dignity.
