Why doesn't God just come down and show Himself so we can believe?

The truth is—He did.

He stepped into humanity, walked among us, healed the sick, opened blind eyes, fed the hungry, loved the outcast, and revealed the Father's heart.

And we crucified Him.

Yet even on the cross, Jesus chose forgiveness over condemnation, grace over judgment, and love over rejection.

The question isn't whether God has revealed Himself. The question is: will we recognize Him when He calls us?

Today, His invitation still stands. No matter your past, your doubts, your questions, or your failures, Jesus is calling you to come close.

📖 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28

If you've been searching for truth, peace, or purpose, start with Jesus. Open your Bible. Talk to Him in prayer. Seek Him with an open heart.

He is closer than you think. 🤍

At the end of the day, beyond the laughter, the rain, the inconvenience, and the memories we made, one thing remains in my heart:

I just want to see all of us in heaven.

That is why we gather.
That is why we open God's Word.
That is why we encourage one another in faith.

Because faith does not grow by feelings alone. Faith grows when we hear the Word of God.

"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." — Romans 10:17

One day, the storms of this life will pass. The struggles, disappointments, and unanswered questions will all fade away.

But what will matter is that we remained faithful to Jesus and helped one another keep our eyes on Him.

STORY TIME

We came to the park expecting a peaceful cell group.

Blue skies. Green grass. Good food. Sisters in Christ gathered together.

Everything seemed perfect.

Then, just as we finished worship and Ate Pearl was about to start sharing the Word, the sky changed.

At first, we laughed.

We prayed that the wind would blow the clouds away. We believed it would.

Then a few drops fell.

A few drops became heavy rain.

Heavy rain became a storm.

Lightning flashed across the sky. The wind pushed against us. Food was flying everywhere. Umbrellas struggled to stay open. One sister carried her six-month-old baby to safety. Another tried running in heels. We covered our heads with a mat that quickly became useless against the pouring rain.

We were soaked.

Cold.

Hungry.

Frustrated.

The team eventually split apart just to find shelter. Some stayed under a tent. Others ran through the rain and hid beneath a bridge.

For a moment, I wondered:

"God, did You hear our prayers?"

Earlier that day, Bishop Joel preached about the spirit of unbelief—how it causes us to focus more on what we see than on God's promises.

And honestly?

I questioned my faith.

But standing there, drenched by the rain, another thought came to me.

What if faith isn't believing that every storm will stop?

What if faith is believing that God is still good even when it doesn't?

Maybe God wasn't teaching us how to avoid the storm.

Maybe He was teaching us how to trust Him in the middle of it.

Because sometimes the miracle isn't that the rain disappears.

Sometimes the miracle is discovering that God's presence remains, even when the skies grow dark.

To believe the unbelievable is not believing that life will always go our way.

It's believing that regardless of the outcome—whether the skies are clear or filled with storms—God is still faithful, still present, and still worthy of our trust.

"Be still, and know that I am God." — Psalm 46:10

The Lesson that I got?

Maybe the storm wasn't sent to stop us. Maybe it was sent to teach us where our faith truly rests.

Hi, just wanted to share one of my biggest learnings gikan sa Bible study course na akong gi-apilan after someone reached out to me on IG. Honestly, daghan kog realizations.

We talked about the two spirits — God vs Satan more on like how to discern the spirit of God vs. kang Satan.

It started with creation itself as evidence that there is truly a Creator. Because if there is creation, then there must be a Creator behind it. But at the same time, the Bible also talks about Satan — the opposer, the father of lies.

And this really made me think deeply…

If Satan is the father of lies, the one who “comes only to steal, kill and destroy” (John 10:10), and if because of sin na-separate ta from God kay “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23), then how can we be restored back to God? How can we receive eternal life?

Then naka-realize ko…

How do you reverse lies ba diay?—-It’s
by knowing the TRUTH.

Pero dira pud ko naka-question:
If Satan can deceive people, and even disguise himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), then unsaon nato pagkabalo kung unsay gikan kang Lord ug unsay deception lang diay?

Kay tinuod man, usahay makalibog ang kalibutan. Daghan kaayog voices, daghang beliefs, daghang “truth” kuno.

But this is what stood out to me:

The Bible says:
“There is no one righteous, not even one.” (Romans 3:10)

Meaning, kitang tanan makasasala.
No one is naturally good enough before God.

And in Matthew 11:27 and 1 Corinthians 2:11, it says no one truly knows God except through His revelation.

So asa man nato makit-an ang tinuod nga kamatuoran?—-sa asa nga pamaagi?

God Himself intervened in this world. He sent Jesus.

Not just a servant, but His Son.

Jesus said:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6)

Dira ko naka-realize:
Truth is not just a concept.
Truth is a person — Jesus Christ.

And one thing nga dili gyud makopya ni Satan from God is this:

God alone can prophesy and fulfill His word perfectly.

Satan can imitate.
He can twist Scripture.
He can deceive.
But he cannot create truth, and he cannot fulfill prophecy the way God does.

Because Satan is only a created being.
But God is the Creator. He is only a creature created by the creator.

And only God can declare something before it happens and bring it into reality.

Mao bitaw importante gyud nga makaila ta sa kamatuoran pinaagi kang Jesus, dili lang pinaagi sa unsay madungog nato online, sa crowd, or sa feelings nato.

Kay if we don’t know the truth, dali ra ta mailad sa lies.

So know the truth.
Read your Bible.
Seek Jesus.

Ayaw padala sa deception sa enemy, because Satan only lies, but Jesus is the Truth.

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32

God is working. You may not see it, but He is.
There’s no need to check behind the scenes to prove that He’s moving.
Just believe, trust, and keep walking by faith. 🤍

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” — Hebrews 11:1
