𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 | VOLLEYBALL GIRLS

Santo Tomas District earned its first triumph after defeating Delfin Albano District in Volleyball Girls in the Legislative District 1 Athletic Association Meet 2025 today, October 17, at Saint Paul Industrial and Vocational High School (SPVIHS) covered court.

The match started with Santo Tomas District taking the first set, 25-14, however, the Delfin Albano District came back strong in the second, 25-13, making the score even, sending the match to third set.

In the final set, Santo Tomas took control and won, 15-13 to finish the match claiming 2-1 finish.

“To give the best to our learner, it is a story that is ‘older than the sea,’ yet its meaning is there.”

That was the message of the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Office of the Regional Director, DepEd Region II, Amir M. Aquino, during the opening ceremony of the Legislative District (LD) 1 Athletic Association Meet 2025 held at Auitan Community Center, San Pablo, yesterday, October 16.

According to Aquino, the said activity is one of the ways to support the holistic development of learners beyond classroom learning.

“The competitor is not an enemy but a partner,” he said. “You need each other to grow. When we consider competitors as partners, we learn to give them the highest respect and love.”

He also expressed gratitude to the local government units and stakeholders, saying that DepEd cannot do it alone.

The LD1 Athletic Association Meet 2025 was officially inaugurated by Public Schools District Supervisor of San Pablo, Janet B. Magusib, PhD.

The meet gathered delegations from Cabagan District, Delfin Albano District, Divilacan and Maconacon District, Tumauini District, San Pablo District, Santo Tomas District, and Santa Maria District with San Pablo as the host municipality.

The opening program included the parade of athletes, raising of banners, and messages of support from education officials and local leaders.

DAMSASHS bags back-to-back title in football

Delfin Albano (Magsaysay) Stand-Alone Senior High School (DAMSASHS) defended its football crown for the second straight year, following last year’s victory that ended San Antonio National High School’s (SANHS) 11-year championship streak.

The championship match was held last Saturday, September 27, at SANHS’ football ground that featured DAMSASHS' and SANHS' competitive game.

Neither team was able to score in the first game but DAMSASHS broke the deadlock in the second half, securing a 1-0 win.

The second game saw DAMSASHS take the lead in the first half with a goal from striker Romebel Macadangdang, followed by Andrei Evangelista adding another goal in the second half, giving DAMSASHS a 2-0 win in the second game.

SANHS futboleros made several attempts to score in both games, but DAMSASHS’ defense successfully blocked all efforts.

With this win, DAMSASHS kickers will be representing the Municipality of Delfin Albano in the upcoming Legislative District Meet this October at San Pablo, Isabela.

Battle of minds unfolded during the Delfin Albano Municipal Athletic Association (DAMAA) Meet 2025 as the six powerful schools brought off remarkable performance in the Chess Competition at Tomas Pua Sr. Integrated School (TPSIS), September 26, Friday.

Ragan Sur National High School (RSNHS) secured the gold medal after a tie-breaker match against Delfin Albano (Magsaysay) Stand-Alone Senior High School (DAMSASHS) attaining the Silver Medal in the Chess Girls Board 1 followed by Aneg National High School (ANHS) claiming the Bronze.

In the board 2, DAMSASHS dominated with a perfect 5-0 record, earning the gold medal and a spot in the Area Meet, while RSNHS settled for silver, and Magsaysay Memorial High School (MMHS) attained the bronze.

In the Boys Division, RSNHS once again reigned supreme as they faced off challenges with the other opponents.

On their end, Magsaysay Memorial High School (MMHS) placed second in both boards while Tomas Pua Sr. Integrated School (TPSIS) both completed the competition ranking third.

The champions will advance to the Legislative District Meet this coming October at San Pablo Isabela.

RSNHS, MMHS bag Mr. and Ms. DAMAA 2025 crowns

Dwane Calatayud of Ragan Sur National High School (RSNHS) and Lyka Galam of Magsaysay Memorial High School (MMHS) were hailed as Mr. and Ms. Delfin Albano Municipal Athletic Association (DAMAA) 2025 in the search held last Friday, September 26, at Tomas Pua Sr. Integrated School (TPSIS) Sports Complex.

The search for Mr. and Ms. DAMAA 2025 served as the highlight of the Day 1 opening of the DAMAA Meet 2025, featuring 12 candidates from six delegations.

On the otherhand, Princess Hanaly Agron of Aneg National High School (ANHS) and Denver Magat of San Antonio National High School (SANHS) finished as first runners-up, while Kaira Jane Albano and Reynald Tandayu of Delfin Albano (Magsaysay) Stand-Alone Senior High School (DAMSASHS) placed second runners-up.
