The Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Region XI, in close collaboration with the Provincial Population Office of Davao del Sur, will be conducting a province-wide series of courtesy visits aimed at fostering the localization and institutionalization of the Regional Population and Development Plan of Action (RPD-POA).

In this regard, we humbly request your assistance in setting an appointment for our team to meet with your esteemed Mayor. Should the Mayor be unavailable, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity for a dialogue with your Local Administrator. The purpose of these visits is to discuss the critical aspects of the RPD-POA and explore collaborative strategies for its effective implementation within your locality.

𝗦𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 | 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

Soong National High School officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office–Provincial Population Office (PSWDO–PPO), marking the start of a collaborative effort to address pressing concerns among adolescents, including teenage pregnancy, bullying, and other youth-related issues.

This initiative was spearheaded by the school's 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐑. 𝐒𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬, who initiated the partnership. The school expressed its sincere appreciation for the timely and positive response of the Provincial Government, represented by the Divison Head of Provincial Population Office, 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐚 𝐅. 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐠, 𝐌𝐏𝐀, 𝐏𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐕.

𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐌. 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨, also conveyed full support, emphasizing the importance of shared responsibility in creating a safe and nurturing environment for learners.

Ma’am Portia shared her appreciation for the partnership, emphasizing that it reflects the school's openness and the Provincial Government’s commitment to fully support initiatives for the youth. She highlighted the readiness of the Provincial Government to extend support to schools and youth programs. She also raised awareness on the rising cases of HIV, promoting educational activities such as Fertility and HIV Awareness and Testing, like the recent one held at Matti National High School - Senior High.

This partnership reflects a united commitment to empowering and protecting our youth. 💚

We were honored to be invited as guest speakers during the 𝗔𝗛𝗬𝗗𝗣 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗜𝗩/𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱.

Throughout the training, 46 students explored essential topics on self-awareness, gender and sexuality, threats and risks affecting young people, and basic counseling skills. These learnings are not only tools — they are stepping stones to becoming agents of change in their school and community.
