PUP-Sandiwa mourns the passing of former President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III, 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines. The only son among the five children of former Senator Benigno Aquino Jr and former President Corazon C. Aquino, he served as Representative of the 2nd District of Tarlac from 1998-2007 before winning a seat in Senate. In 2010, he won the Presidency then became the first bachelor president and served until 2016.

Aquino had been afflicted with numerous ailments since 2019. He had been on dialysis for at least five months and had lately had a heart procedure. However, there is still no official statement from his family regarding the cause of his death.
