PDEA, LAW ENFORCEMENT PARTNERS INTERCEPT APPROXIMATELY 11 KILOS OF SHABU AT MATNOG PORT; 2 SUSPECTS NABBED
Matnog, Sorsogon — A joint seaport interdiction operation led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-National Capital Region (PDEA NCR), in coordination with PDEA Regional Office V, the Philippine Coast Guard Matnog, CGSS Matnog, Philippine Ports Authority Sorsogon, Multiple PNP units, 22nd Infantry Battalion PA, 502nd MC-RMFB 5, 1st PMFC SORPPO and other members of the Inter-Agency Illicit Drug Interdiction Task Group (IIDITG) Sorsogon, resulted in the arrest of two drug personalities and the seizure of approximately 11 kilograms of suspected shabu on August 23, 2025, at Matnog Port, Brgy. Caloocan, Matnog, Sorsogon.
Confiscated during the operation were 11 vacuum-sealed plastic bags labeled “Very Good” containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, along with assorted paraphernalia, personal items, and a white Toyota Hilux.
The arrested individuals were identified as alias Jam, 34, and Alias Sal, 19. Both will face charges for violation of Section 5 (Transportation of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
