Diniog NHS effectively launched Project REACT (Research Advancement cm Training Workshop) on 13 May 2023, a significant event. The workshop, proposed and managed by the research coordinator of the school, Mr. Reynaldo F. Manzano Jr., and supported by the school head, Mrs. Juanita G. Asuncion, the said training is intended to equip teachers with the skills necessary to design research. Mrs. Karen J. Moises and Mr. Arvy G. Valencia, esteemed experts and resource speakers, took the stage and shared their profound insights.

Participants excitedly engaged in the creation of meticulous research outlines during the engaging workshop. Then, these outlines were presented deftly to the esteemed panel, which was comprised of distinguished resource speakers.

The culmination of the event was the eagerly anticipated recognition of exceptional talent. Mrs. Jennifer P. Garcia emerged victorious in a tense atmosphere, securing the coveted first place with her outstanding research outline. Mrs. Eljane T. Julio and Mr. Menardo S. Primo placed second and third, respectively.

The collective efforts and unwavering commitment exhibited by the participants reflected Diniog NHS's determination to promote research excellence. With Project REACT laying the groundwork for the institution's research endeavours, the future contains tremendous promise for the advancement of knowledge and educational development.

"DINIOG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TAKES BOLD STEP IN EMPOWERING ADOLESCENTS WITH REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH EDUCATION DURING IAHW SYMPOSIUM"

Diniog National High School held a symposium on March 24, 2023, in celebration of International Adolescent Health Week (IAHW), with the theme "With and For Adolescents: Building a Healthier and More Inclusive FUTURE." The symposium aimed to promote healthy development throughout adolescence and early adulthood through lectures and discussions.

Mrs. Eljane T. Julio, the focal person of Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH), organized the symposium. The audience was comprised of students from Grades 9 and 10, who listened to the school nurse of Dilasag district, Nurse II Rosemarie Isidora A. Lorenzana, as the resource speaker.

Nurse Lorenzana stressed the importance of the ARH program, which is one of the flagship programs of Oplan Kalusugan (OK) sa DepEd. She mentioned that without this program, adolescents would be exposed to unsafe s*x, which could lead to unwanted pregnancy.

Mrs. Julio welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of the symposium to the students. Nurse Lorenzana discussed the different stages of adolescence, teenage pregnancy, and the risks of premarital s*x.

Mrs. Juanita G. Asuncion, the school head of Diniog NHS, affirmed the students, stating that they were in their transition age and were not yet mature enough to make decisions for themselves. She emphasized that most students were minors and still needed guidance from their parents.

The students were asked to wear green shirts, which represented growth, happiness, health, and high energy. Mr. Tan added that in Chinese culture, green symbolizes growth, wealth, and prosperity. He reminded the students to take Nurse Lorenzana's words positively and apply them to their own growth.

The symposium officially ended after Mrs. Sol Hanna M. Alinio, the focal person of Gender and Development (GAD), gave her closing remarks. She emphasized that every program of DepEd was for the students' future, ensuring that they were informed when they went down the wrong path.

Overall, the symposium provided valuable insights and information to the students, highlighting the importance of adolescent reproductive health and the role of the school in guiding and informing students to make healthy decisions.

The ECHO Joins Division Schools Press Conference After 3-Year Hiatus

After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, Diniog Nhs finally joined the Division Schools Press Conference held at Baler Central School on March 17-19, 2023. The conference was a much-awaited event for student writers, who had been eager to showcase their writing skills after three long years.

The ECHO, the official student publication of Diniog Nhs, was able to participate in the conference with the support and motivation of their school administration, teachers, and parents. The publication would like to acknowledge the goodness of the LGU-Dilasag, especially Hon. Mayor Joe Gorospe and Hon. Councilor Leah Gorospe, and the Provincial Government of Aurora for their financial assistance to the 8 participants who joined the competition.

The conference was a significant event for the student writers, who were given the opportunity to showcase their writing skills and compete against their peers from different schools in the division. The event aimed to promote journalism and responsible reporting among the students and to recognize outstanding student writers who will represent the division in the upcoming Regional Schools Press Conference.

The ECHO is proud to have been able to participate in the conference and is grateful for the opportunity to have their voice heard. The student publication would like to extend their gratitude to Baler Central School headed by Sir Ronnie Ritual for accommodating them in the H.E room, as well as their school head, Ma'am Juanita G. Asuncion, and supportive teachers and parents for the encouragement and support to be able to unlock the full potential of the student writers.

The conference was a success, and The ECHO looks forward to participating in more events that will showcase the talent and skills of student writers in the division. The ECHO is hopeful that the future will bring more opportunities for students to hone their writing skills and contribute to responsible reporting in their communities.
