A rift disrupts what was once seemingly fixed.

rift art gallery launched its inaugural exhibition "rift / making through the cracks" on December 14 in V.V. Soliven Building, EDSA, San Juan. Curated by Carissa Pobre, the exhibit offered a glimpse into the various types of ruptures that may unsettle, from personal to communal, environmental to social.

As diverse art forms from seven artists converge in the intimate space, rift epitomized how each crack—no matter where it comes from or how deep it runs—can merge into a powerful shared politic.

The exhibition may be viewed free of charge until February 1, 2026. Gallery visits are by appointment.

The musical apocalypse took over Ateneo! 😱🎶

Entering the hivemind, HEIGHTS Ateneo caught up with the cast of The Guy who Didn’t Like Musicals to find out what musical role they wouldn’t want to play as. 🤔❌

From November 15 to 18, Ateneo Blue Repertory opened their 34th season with this newbie production in the Rizal Mini Theater. Stay tuned for more blueREP productions next year! 🤫

What would you give to have it all? 🪽

Areté’s Si Faust mixes Wolfgang’s music with Goethe’s tragedy to tell the story of Faust, as he chases desire, power, and purpose. ⚖️

The musical follows his deal with Mephistopheles, a pact that promises everything he thinks he wants. Every action Faust takes advances him toward his goals, but each choice made has unintended repercussions that force him to face the true cost of his desires. The story explores temptation and the struggle to balance wants with responsibility, keeping the journey engaging from beginning to end.

"Care seems to seep into the questions, the fears, and the discomfort one feels. They are not passive thoughts, but there is a lot of reflection, learning, and engagement." — Arizia Palomar, 73rd Editor-in-Chief of HEIGHTS Ateneo

We would like to thank everyone who attended FRACTURES: The First Regular Folio Launch of HEIGHTS Ateneo for academic year 2025 to 2026!

In its 73rd year, HEIGHTS recognizes that to cultivate a culture of care, there must first be space for doubt—for fractures to form and for stories to be heard. With this, we would like to extend our gratitude to all who have helped make this space towards creative expression possible.

🎼 “There’s no easy path. No, I won’t give in. I’ll cross the line!” 🧑‍⚖️

Back in session and bigger than ever, Bar Boys: The Musical raises the bar in its latest restaging at Hyundai Hall, Ateneo de Manila University. 🎭⚖️ With Myke Salomon’s music, Pat Valera’s book and lyrics, and Mikko Angeles’ direction at the helm, Barefoot Theatre Collaborative levels up Kip Oebanda’s film into a high-stakes, high-heart revival.

Erik, Chris, Torran, and Josh embody not only the struggles of future lawyers, but also the urgency of the youth in confronting systems that resist change. From biting humor to raw vulnerability, the show demonstrates how the rigor of jurisprudence collides with the sensitivity of performance to reveal larger-than-life truths. 🎶

The apotheosis is upon us! ☄️

The Ateneo Blue Repertory opened its 34th Season Newbie Production, The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, last November 15. The musical follows Paul and his friends, as the citizens of their town, Hatchetfield, are gradually infected by an alien hive mind that makes them act as if they are in a musical! 🎭

Congratulations to Ateneo Blue Repertory and the entire team behind The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals!

This event is part of the Kritika Kultura Lecture Series. Kritika Kultura is acknowledged by a host of Asian and Asian American Studies libraries and scholarly networks and indexed in the MLA International Bibliography, Arts and Humanities Citation Index (Clarivate), Scopus, EBSCO, the Directory of Open Access Journals, and the International Consortium of Critical Theory Programs (ICCTP).

Food and stories always find a way to bring people together. 🥘

Last November 6 at the Gonzaga Foyer, the Ateneo Institute of Literary Arts and Practices held "Hawker of Words and Flavors," showcasing books, food, and fun activities for the Ateneo Community.

As part of this year's theme of Pantikiman: A Salo-Salu of Southeast East Asian Authors, the fair celebrates the shared food and literary traditions of Southeast Asia, promoting greater appreciation of our shared culture and roots.
