RAISE A WOLF INSTEAD OF A SHEEP
A shepherd once had two sons. When they were young, he gave each of them a lamb.
βRaise them well,β he said. βThey will teach you something about life.β
The first son raised his lamb to always follow. He guided it everywhere, made every decision for it, and protected it from every challenge. The sheep grew gentle and obedient, but it became afraid of anything unfamiliar.
The second son was different. One day, he found an injured wolf pup in the forest. Against everyone's advice, he cared for it and helped it heal.
Years passed.
The sheep became dependent, waiting for others to show the way. Whenever a storm came, it panicked and hid.
The wolf, however, learned to think, adapt, and survive. It respected its owner not because it was forced to, but because trust had been earned.
One winter, a fierce storm struck the village. The sheep scattered in fear, following one another without direction. Many were lost.
But the wolf stood firm. It found shelter, protected those around it, and guided its owner safely through the darkness.
The old shepherd watched and smiled.
βLife does not need more sheep,β he said. βThe world already has enough followers. What it needs are people with the courage of wolvesβstrong enough to think for themselves, wise enough to protect others, and brave enough to walk their own path.β
And from that day on, the villagers understood:
Don't raise someone to blindly follow the crowd. Raise them to be strong, independent, and fearless enough to lead when it matters most. πΊβ¨
