- diameter if the rim is slightly greater than diameter of body
*RIMLESS CARTRIDGE
- based or head of the cartridge has the same diameter as that of the cylindrical
portion
*REBATED TYPE
- smaller than the body of cartridge case
*BELTED TYPE
- cartridge are attached in a series in a canvass belt for successive fires
