Negros Oriental, August 4, 2025 — The Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Negros Oriental Federation held its highly anticipated 2025 election at the Bethel Guest House, marking a pivotal moment for local governance and political unity in the province.

In a decisive victory, 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐨 𝐆. 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐈𝐈𝐈 was overwhelmingly elected, now a two-termer as President, 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟯𝟮 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟰𝟴 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁, defeating his rival, 𝗥𝗲𝘆 𝗟𝘆𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝟭𝟲 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀.

𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐚 has issued Executive Order No. 10, Series of 2025, declaring the suspension of classes in all levels in both public and private educational institutions across Negros Oriental. This action comes amid ongoing heavy rains and flooding resulting from the intensified southwest monsoon and Tropical Depression "Crising," which have significantly affected various municipalities and cities within the province.

The executive order aims to prioritize the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and school personnel by preventing potential hazards posed by the inclement weather. The suspension is effective immediately and will remain in force until further notice.

Key Details of Executive Order No. 10, Series of 2025:

Purpose:
To safeguard the health, safety, and property of the residents amid heavy rains and flooding.

Legal Basis:
Based on Section 2 of Presidential Executive Order No. 66 (2012) and Section 16 of Republic Act No. 7160 (Local Government Code of 1991), empowering local government units to take necessary actions during disasters.

Coordination:
Implemented in coordination with the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Sagarbarria of Negros Oriental paid a courtesy visit to Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, PGEN Nicolas D. Torre III, at the PNP headquarters in Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City.

The visit, held at the OCNP Reception Area, was attended by notable officials including Ret. PCOL Constantino Barot, Civil Security Officer of the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental, Police Brigadier General Jean Salvador Fajardo, and Police Colonel Crisaleo Roleda Tolentino.
