Around 7 PM, a fire incident struck a portion of the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital. Amid the urgency and concern, Governor Chaco Sagarbarria immediately arrived at Ground Zero to personally inspect the situation, check the affected areas, and ensure the safety of patients, staff, and everyone on site.

With calm presence and sincere compassion, the Governor reassured the community that swift actions will be taken and that the Provincial Government stands ready to support all those affected.

In moments of uncertainty, true leadership brings comfort. Thank you, Governor Chaco, for being there for your constituents when they need you most.

Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria continues to demonstrate his compassion and dedication to public service as he personally leads the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental’s response to the urgent needs of Canlaon City following the devastation brought by Typhoon Tino.

Together with Mayor Jose Chubasco “Batchuk” Cardenas, Governor Chaco ensured that immediate assistance — including food packs and essential supplies — reached affected families and communities. The Provincial Government, through the PSWDO and in close coordination with various national government agencies, worked hand in hand to deliver relief operations and assess further needs on the ground.

Governor Chaco reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to support Canlaon City and other affected areas, highlighting the importance of unity and collaboration among local and national agencies in addressing the impacts of natural disasters. He also expressed gratitude to all sectors extending their help and solidarity to the people of Canlaon.

𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐚 has issued Executive Order No. 10, Series of 2025, declaring the suspension of classes in all levels in both public and private educational institutions across Negros Oriental. This action comes amid ongoing heavy rains and flooding resulting from the intensified southwest monsoon and Tropical Depression "Crising," which have significantly affected various municipalities and cities within the province.

The executive order aims to prioritize the safety and well-being of students, teachers, and school personnel by preventing potential hazards posed by the inclement weather. The suspension is effective immediately and will remain in force until further notice.

Key Details of Executive Order No. 10, Series of 2025:

Purpose:
To safeguard the health, safety, and property of the residents amid heavy rains and flooding.

Legal Basis:
Based on Section 2 of Presidential Executive Order No. 66 (2012) and Section 16 of Republic Act No. 7160 (Local Government Code of 1991), empowering local government units to take necessary actions during disasters.

Coordination:
Implemented in coordination with the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
