Alvin Karingal, widely known as the Fishball Warrior, went viral for his heartfelt protest calling to lower the price of our beloved Filipino street foods. 🍢🇵🇭

But since September 1, 2025, Alvin has been missing. Witnesses say he was last seen being caught by police during a rally in Manila.

His mother is deeply worried, sleepless, and calling for help. 💔 She says Alvin has a mental health condition and needs his medication — he should not be in police custody without proper care.

🚨 BREAKING: Charges Loom Over Lawmakers in Flood Control Fund Scam 🚨

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed that the NBI and AMLC are now pursuing charges against lawmakers and government officials implicated in the ₱545-billion flood control project scam.

🔎 :

Former DPWH Bulacan Engineer Henry Alcantara submitted an affidavit naming senators, congressmen, and officials allegedly involved in kickbacks from nearly 9,855 ghost or anomalous projects.

Among those recommended for charges: Sen. Joel Villanueva, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, Rep. Elizaldy Co, ex-Rep. Mitch Cajayon-Uy, and former DPWH Usec. Roberto Bernardo.

Possible violations: Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, indirect bribery, and malversation of public funds.

The AMLC has already frozen bank accounts linked to the complaint, while Alcantara seeks protection under the Witness Protection Program.

📅 The case exploded as protests swept Manila on September 21, coinciding with the anniversary of Martial Law — a day symbolic of the fight against abuse of power.

💬 This could be one of the biggest corruption cases in years. The people are watching. Will justice be served?

“Lower the price of fishball!” ✊
While others may see it as a joke but the truth remains, kuya’s word speak for many of us.
Simple as it may sound, it reflects the bigger struggle we all face — high prices, low income, and the constant burden of life.
What he shouted isn’t just about fishballs, it’s about dignity, fairness, and survival.

Salute to Kuyahhh 🥰

Thousands Rally in Manila Against Government Corruption

Today, tens of thousands of Filipinos took to the streets of Manila outraged over revelations of alleged corruption involving flood control projects worth over ₱545 billion (about US$9.5 billion).

The scandal centers on almost 9,855 flood control projects across the country.

Many believe these so-called “ghost” or anomalous infrastructure projects have siphoned public funds, while basic services like health and housing continue to suffer.

Protesters held banners calling for accountability: “No more,” “Too much,” “Jail them.”

There were clashes. Around 17 people were arrested for throwing rocks and setting fire to barricades. Water cannons were used on masked protesters. Some police were reportedly injured.

The date, September 21, was symbolic. It’s the anniversary of the declaration of martial law under Ferdinand Marcos Sr., and protesters say they want lasting reforms to “eradicate any opportunity for corruption at any level of government.”
Al Jazeera

This is a moment that shows many Filipinos are tired — tired of seeing public funds wasted, of frontline services being under-resourced, of injustice. If corruption can take place on this scale, it means something is deeply broken in how things are run.

🗣️ What do you think needs to change so this never happens again? Accountability from officials? Better oversight? Citizen engagement? Let’s talk about it.
