This notable recognition was recognized for their commitment to championing creativity as a driver of sustainable urban development,proving their expertise in building resilient and vibrant communities especially in nurturing the city's thriving literary scene.Dumaguete alongside Jakarta were designated among the first Creative Cities of Literature in SouthEast Asia. Quezon City on the other hand was announced as a UNESCO Creative City of Film alongside Ho Chi Minh.
